I think yours is the best of the kart type builds I've seen yet. A lot of folks never heard of the King Midget but they were based on the same idea decades ago. Glad to see folks experimenting with the concept lately.

A friend of mine had a King Midget back in high school, ’69. He drove it over to my house, I thought it was great. Not much to it. Would never pass safety or emissions today.

Thanks for the compliment. I’m not sure what the MPG is exactly. My best guess is that it’s probably over 50 mpg.

I had my left foot on the brake pedal. Not a good habit but I was not sure of the road surface and may have needed to slow down quickly.

Iv seen some people asking how the clutch works on here, i think i know what hes doing. It has a centrifugal clutch like a snowmobile on the engine, then the drive chain connects directly to the transmission spline shaft. When he revs the engine, the RPM gets high enough, the centrifugal clutch engages. So there is no clutch pedal, no flywheel pressure plate set up, none of that. Hes shifting the transmission as if he wasnt stepping on the clutch, like driving a stick shift car without the clutch. It doesnt need a pedal for shifting while moving. When he stops, he pops it in neutral, because the RPM is low, the centrifugal clutch disengages. Think of it like an “automatic” clutch. Weird i know. But.

@@halfcrazyoldchristianredne895 if the synchros are in good shape you should have minimal problems. You can hear in this video he does grind a little. You could do this with pretty much any manual trans. You just have to make adapters and stuff.

@@patduch636 thanks for the reply, when it was running it would up shift real easily, maybe with thinner gear box oil. I think that would be pretty cool, but id like to do a v-twin with CVT. Not sure about attaching cvt to input shaft

Bro its street legal he had a plate on the back just covered up lol almost any state you can license and register any build as long as you can prove parts labor and money, those three things will make a go kart street legal 😂
