Ok so historically after the fall of troy and essentially the Greek empire. Romulus went North founded Rome and thus the Greek Gods changed and took the form of a more Militaristic unit all the Roman Gods have a bases of some Facet of War....and these Gods go to take over most of the known world. Artemis in Historical context fled North changed her name and is in Norse Mythology as well. She is not the only Greek God to go into Norse Mythology either. What is on that vase I think is Romulus building Rome. Leaving the Greek gods to reach a higher plain of existence in the Roman Pantheon and there conquering of the known world could be spun into them seeking retribution looking for Kratos. Baldor even says I thought you were to be so enlightened. I think he thought kratos was Roman. It would fit the time frame because the barbarian hordes of the North gave the Roman's the toughest time. The Norse gods could possibly be fighting on one front already and now ragnarok is starting.

Remember when kratos first fought Baulder and he was like "He knew me? did he know my past? How did they find me? After all this time?" implying that Kratos KNEW the remaining Gods would hunt him, why else get back the blades of chaos? So it's likely as he was escaping to the Norse lands he perhaps crossed paths with Artemis but he wasn't strong enough to kill her. Defeat her enough to where he could escape but he lets her live and he escapes to the norse lands and spends his time at first covering his tracks to make SURE Atremis can't find him. However now the game has changed, the protection spell on their forest is gone. The gods know where they are now and I imagine that will not just mean the Asgardians.

I’m pretty sure the spells were purposely broken because when you first leave home with Atreus he mentions the spells around the Forrest are gone then immediately asks why mother chose them certain trees to mark and kratos then looks up, sort of in realisation that it was her plan to remove said spells to force kratos into going on the adventure with Atreus as she will have clearly known how strict kratos is so she knew even in death she would have to force his hand slightly

That image on the vase shows Kratos rampaging when he was the servant of ares. The temple that vase was in was left buried under the sea for 150 years by tyr. Considering tyr got that vase himself from Greece. He would have had to have gotten it prior to the destruction of the greek pantheon which means the vase was made before Kratos killed the Gods and as for the painting of people re building structures at the back of the vase. It's probably people rebuilding villages and temples that Kratos destroyed in the name of ares. Also since that vase was buried under the ocean for 150 years proves that Kratos has to be at least over 150 years old

I love the idea that we would be returning to Greece one day. However I think Kratos won't be able to though. If someone's going to Greece it should be a little more grown up Atreus. Possibly to find a way to resurrect his father when he gets killed or to simply know more about his past because he just won't open up more. There he'll constantly hear the people referencing someone called as the ghost of sparta and how thankful they are that he got rid of the cruel gods. Or they could be angry at him i dunno. I think that would be a good opportunity to reveal to Atreus his father's past family and what happened to them. I just don't know how the supposedly surviving gods would fit in. If they are to come back then I can't wait for Aphrodite to recognize a little bit of Kratos in Atreus lol.

There is possibly some credibility in this theory that what happened in Greece may not stay in Greece. I saw something that I don't think that you mentioned on the picture as well and it isn't the guys rebuilding. I noticed what appeared to be the three harpies flying in the sky above the workers. Then I think back to the extras that they released on the one year anniversary of the games release especially the new theme screen that featured what appeared to harpies in the far distance in the background. Now that screen featured four possible harpies and the cup appears to only feature three, but maybe it is something.

Yes, I know that harpies are from Greek mythology and it would make sense if it was on the cup. In the video Kuba is suggesting that the other images on the cup were of the surviving Greek Gods rebuilding (possibly Olympus) and that they may factor into the sequel games. I just noticed that he didn't mention the harpies (if they are harpies) on the cup as well flying around. When I saw that I remembered the a special feature anniversary screen, for the game, that appeared to show harpies flying around in the distance. Which has made many people speculate that maybe there would be some Greek Gods or creatures that made the same trip that Kratos did and they will influence events in the next games. I was just making a very loose connection between what Kuba was saying about the cup and what was being said about the possible harpies in the background of the God of War special feature screen. It's a very loose idea and I'm not even sure I believe or even want Greek Gods or creatures to appear in the future games. There is enough in Norse to be it's own thing in the upcoming games why go back to Greek characters? It might just be coincidence and I'm okay with that. Or the harpies on that screen (if they are harpies) could just be a metaphor for leaving the Greece stories in the past (like Kratos is trying to do) and focus on where we are now in the story. Either way I can't wait for the next game to see what happens.

I'm glad you brought this up because I remember watching the scene where Kratos finds the vase and wondering what was on the back of it because in the scene you can only see the broken temple part of it. I personally think this means that regardless of how much good Tyr did for people I think he knew he wasn't strong enough or the right person to bring down the gods himself. So with his ability to see into the future and travel between realms, he used this to try to find a successor to take over for him after he gets killed/imprisoned. Basically keeping a record of every other God of War that could help him or fulfill the prophecy the giants had of Ragnorak. Thus having the vase signify that this one god of war from Greece was the only god to give people hope within themselves to not have to think everything they do is to serve a gods wishes. They rebuild, taking control of their fate and having hope for the future instead of feeling helpless now that the gods are gone. I think the big subversion they will do with this story is to have Atreus basically be John Connor, where Faye and Kratos were destined to be the teachers of this new god that will, as a result of their combined powers and knowledge, be the first god to use his abilities and perspective to bring order to the nine realms.

Maybe those guys rebuilding Olympus may be the Romans. The Greek and Roman mythology share similar traits, since the Roman Empire conquered many lands, such as Israel and Greece, and by combining the Greek myths, was born the Roman Empire (Zeus being Jupiter, Ares being Mars, Athena being Minerva, and so on). My theory is that when Kratos gave the power of hope to the humanity that survived the Apocalypse, the survivors started rebuilding their land with the power of hope, that way, building a new Empire. In all mythologies, chaos can be the "Allfather", since chaos ruled the Earth before gods came and created the world of men. When Kratos killed the Greek gods, chaos took over again, and since people were using the power of hope to rebuild their land, that means that a new culture and mythology is being born, that being the Roman mythology, so, Greece is slowly being brought back, but now with a new name, that being: the Roman Empire. And maybe Jesus could be in the God of War universe as the next Kratos? Jesus was one of the factors of the creation of the Christian religion, and in the God of War universe, Jesus fought against the Roman Empire, died, got resurrected, and his followers started worshiping him as a god. Kratos did the same thing. So, Jesus could be a new Kratos, but a hopeful and merciful Kratos, one that destroyed the Roman gods to spread hope, thus creating a new mythology/religion, that being the Christian religion. That could explain why Kratos' axe is named "Leviathan Axe", and the Leviathan is a creature that you can find in the Bible, forcing the idea that the mythologies coexist in the universe. Kratos could be the representation of the birth of new religions, or the representation of atheism, since Kratos hates the gods and renounced them, like an atheist.

@@KaptainKuba after looking this up a bit more they are actually very similar. Apollo is god of the sun while Helios is the sun personified. So basically Apollo represents the sun but Helios is the sun itself. Its weird how similar they are. And I love your god of war content, can’t wait for your ragnarok videos to come ❤️

I'm noticing a lot more in pop culture that a lot of stories are using a theme of magic clashing with technology, and how the belief in one weakens the other, or in some cases how both can be used in combination. I think the best example of magic clashing with technology is in a game called Arcanum, and I wouldn't mid seeing Greece in GOW taking a similar rout Arcanum did in terms of magic and tech. But honestly the Idea of Kratos and Atreus fighting ancient robots sounds really cool. (EDIT): in GoW 1 in the ending cutscene when Kratos becomes the new god of war (and is sitting on his throne), you can see visions of men in gas masks and what not, possibly foretelling the rise of modern day. And I believe that there is another cutscene of a helicopter flying towards the bones of a titan in the future (secret ending).
