I’m glad 3C films knows what kind of movie this is because it does annoy me seeing some reviewers who aren’t that well versed into Godzilla or Kaiju films having to only compare it to Minus One thinking that every Godzilla movie needs to be taken seriously/Oscars worthy when really it’s great to have a balanced of both worlds, can’t wait to check it out tomorrow!

I’m happy this movie and GvK puts most the attention on Kong. He’s the titan with the most character development and has more going on in his life. Between exploring the Hollow Earth to discovering more of his kind, I really don’t understand why people feel there should be an even split between him and Godzilla. Especially when all Godzilla does is patrol the surface world and make sure other titans don’t get out of line. But I am stoked to see Godzilla and Kong’s relationship grow further from frenemies to comrades.

You’re basically saying you want to see stuff that’s already going to be in the film…so those aspects are already covered. The rest of the time that’s focused on Kong, we don’t need to see half of that time given to Godzilla while he goes about doing nothing like swimming, sleeping, and consuming radiation. Not when Kong has way more happening in his story especially when it comes to exploring the Hollow Earth.

I’m a casual Godzilla fan, and I enjoy both the serious version and the silly version. The franchise is versatile and I like they try different ideas and tones while keeping the spirit of Godzilla there. I’ll have to see this one next week!

I liked and hated Skar King I like Skar King as a villain because he is not the biggest or most powerful titan, instead he uses cunning, fear, intimidation, cruelty and slavery. Plus despite his lanky appearance Skar was much more agile than Kong. I hated Skar King because of the things he was doing. He was a Tyrant and sadistic especially to Shimo. I'm glad he went out in a very brutal way. Because villains are supposed to make you hate thier guts.

Back when he was first shown off I didn't have any doubt in his ability to be a great villain that should be taken seriously. Cause kongs are the closest thing to a human kaiju and human can be monsters in their own ways and scar king showed that.

I just wish we had more of the tone of something like monarch or kotm, with the action of gvk specifically, feels like itd be the perfect mesh, because it almost feels like we went from pacific rim to pacific rim 2, it can be as goofy as a callback to the show era as it wants, but this isnt how the universe started yk, i wish they keep some of their roots alive, i want them to find a perfect balance, but long live the king

Personally I love what Wingard's doing. I love the older godzilla films where it's just a fun time watching a dumb plot with guys in monster suits fighting. This and GVK are both essentially modernized versions of those films same goes for KOTM, while not directed by wingard is still a blast and I love it all.

The final battle fell flat for me, Scar was too underused… he was too easily defeated by Kong. It would’ve been better for kong and godzilla to fight scar at the same time and make scar overthrow them first to show his strength

Love how you mention the different varieties of godzilla movies and not compare all of them the same. Other reviewers compaing this to minus one. People don't really look up their information anymore these days. They just see something, then blurt out a comparison that really don't make sense. In the interview they were very specific about this movie being a all out action movie, good cop bad cop, with the story being "MONSTER" focus. They even made a small video with both minus one director and Adam Wingard talking about their movies but yet people are like "the human are not the same as minus one". No duh, they weren't going for minus one. Though like you said they can still improve around the story of the monsterverse. Especially the villain should be more brutal and on par with godzilla or else it's just going be bland knowing that the next movie godzilla will be barely defeated. They need to tease real threats in the monsterverse for them to get right back on track with the good story telling.

Alright so, On the movies’ release day, March 29th, my mom bought tickets for the movie for 9PM. And at 7PM, we left the house to go to the theater, and got our snacks and drinks, and headed to the screening for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. After that, we got some trailers for upcoming movies. But the thing was, is that right before the movie started, we’ve got an extra, Inside Out 2. Normally, I thought it would be a normal trailer with the new emotions, until I saw a text, “when the lights go out”. I believe this is for “Silence Your Phones”, Then heard the sound of an emotion snoring. Then I saw the Emotions’ Bedroom with all 5 of them sleeping. Full story out now on my main page.

I've been looking forward to seeing this. This is a movie that needs a theater experience. After this I'm hoping we get more after this one we get more but I think they should restart both characters with new movies, with new vibes, bring the vibe too king kong from the movie years ago with Jack black and bring the vibe to godzilla from the early 2000's where there darker and perhaps even scary.

i absolutely LOVED this movie. i saw it day one in imax. my only two downsides in this movie is 1, they didn't play mothra's theme at all and 2, skar king got his cheeks clapped way too quick in the final fight.
