I really need your advice. I want to buy an iPad just for Davinci Resolve for my travel. Can you please tell about the actual performance of opening 3 or 4 4k videos and editing them? Should they be ProRes to be smooth or h.264 is also handled smoothly? Do MagicMask and trackers work flawlessly or are they so slow and problematic or inacurate that makes them useless? Thanks a lot 🙏🏻

I have also a small KZbin Channel and I usually use my MacBook Pro 14” M3 Max for video editing. I started to follow your channel since I bought an 11” IPad Pro M4.. and I noticed the same issues with Davinci Resolve and the MXMaster 3. I hope that Logitech may do something with it but I am truly not sure if they will create a program for the iPads. Still I am more hopeful towards Blackmagic who are usually more interested in what we do than Logitech. I say so because the MX Master Keyboard and its issues with the backlighting has not been fixed since day one and those who have it cannot repair it if not opening the keyboard…

Ah I'm so glad someone understands my frustrations! I am not sure if the Logi+ app not being available is a technical limitation of iPadOS, or that it's possible but they just don't want to put resources into it. Someone actually told me to look into gaming mice that you can directly program keystrokes into the mouse and not via software, and that should work on iPad, so I'm thinking about trying that out!

@@YukaOhishi That is a great information and I hope it may work. The Logic+ can help but also not help at all. As I mentioned the Logitech MX Master Keyboard has a backlight issue that cannot be fixed at all and most of us will use it without the backlight on. We need to be patient and hope that the Programs can change in better and not only to sell new products. Thank you for your time and for the work you do for us all!

Hahahahah If you have to bring all these accessories, then at this point doesn’t it make sense to just bring the Macbook ?

it's ridiculous honestly, but messing around with the accessories is part of the fun! lol I would say, there are things that only iPad can do, but the things that Mac and iPad can do, Mac does better. So I guess I need to bring both?

Hello, are you still using your AVP regularly? Have ordered one since they have arrived in Europe. Im a very chill-loving person. In my imagination that would be cool to lie in bed after work and learn sthg with AVP on my face. Otherwise would need to sit in front of a monitor and not very comfortable body position to recover.

love that you're a chill-loving person! I honestly don't use APV as much as I would like to. I use it to test out new apps and occasionally connect to Mac as a virtual monitor. You can definitely lie down and watch content though! I should find to do that more..

@@YukaOhishi is it maybe not so comfortable to wear for you? there are some mods for it such as 3d printed solution on etsy like the dual solo knit band mod. I think I will go for the DPR210 headstrap from spigen. and then maybe the baseball cap clips to use it without lightshield. but not sure yet.

it's not really about comfort but more about finding the right timing to use it. Especially for entertainment, I watch shows with my husband a lot so I don't have a moment when I want to be super immersed and alone with the APV. The best use case so far has been on flights, to use with the Mac as a monitor, or watch movies on a big screen with.

iPad is just not useable as a standalone laptop replacement. The issue is the OS, for anything but watching KZbin or the odd email web browsing it sucks.

Depends on your use case. I find it very usable as a desktop substitute when I am on the road. I alternate between it and my desktop Mac depending on where I am in the house. Your mileage may vary.

@@DavidMussington The use case is stated - laptop replacement. The iPad you spend all your time fighting the OS and trying to work around its limitations. It’s a basic consumption device, that’s what it was designed for. Answering the odd email, odd web page, watch a video. Even then, KZbin app sucks. It’s just a complete pain to use. It doesn’t sit on the knee easy, just everything is tiresome.
