Going on A Sam's Run: I Had to Confess at the End!!

We do a SAMS run about every two months. Not my favorite thing to do - but I do try to reward myself getting thru the ordeal by grabbing a couple of shirts. Nana forgot they were in the pile and had been scanned. If I had kept my big mouth shut - she might not have even realized that the total was so high at check-out because of the shirts. Oh Well!

Oh Papa and Nana, i was born and raised in Michigan on a farm. And we had rhubarb growing wild behind our barn. I would go get some and take it and rinse it off with the garden hose, and eat it just like that. On a warm summer day, it was soooo goooooood!!!! Love your channel and your children’s too! Strawberry rhubarb pie made with rhubarb but the strawberry flavor is from dry strawberry jello mix which also counts as part of the sugar. Tastes wonderful, has a rosy appearance, and can be made when strawberries are out of season.

Sorry jello is not a good replacement for real strawberries. Sam’s and Costco both carry frozen strawberries which work well in pie.

My husband spotted rhubarb 1.99 a pound in Hamilton Michigan!!! I was born & raised in holland MI. MY house on Lincoln Ave. I had 2 huge plants in my flower garden !!Now I live in country in fennville mi & I can't grow it !!! Hope you get some local rhubarb, Papa, to make your pie! It’s really wonderful with strawberries in a pie. I’ve started two plants in my garden ; hopefully in a year or two I’ll have lots of fresh rhubarb to harvest! It has avery short shelf life in the grocery stores, and it’s quite expensive, so I’m trying my hand at growing my own!

I LOVE onion pie and it's too hot in Florida where you are for rhubarb. We're up in North Central FL and I've tried several times to keep a plant going, but my gardening friends say there's not enough cold. We're going north next week and our daughter says the rhubarb is huge, so I'm hoping for some! I'm glad you finally remembered those shirts affecting the "grocery" budget!

Hello an tip for the chicken cut it in half a debone it an boil the bones for broth they seal as they cool when u pour it off into jars after. An freeze the half y'all didn't use an make ur chicken salad . Makes for easy lunches. It's just me an my 2 dogs I love a whole chicken but I can't eat it even the dogs .... 😂❤🎉

I do not get out of Costco for less than $300 and I shop every three weeks. Your favorite salads are the same as mine. Your food prices are lower than where I shop .

I haven't had onion pie, but if you were in North Dakota right now, you could find all the fresh rhubarb you would want, many yards including mine have rhubarb patches, I give most of mine away and still have plenty left in the yard, love anything rhubarb! Great video!

Lemon Greek chicken with rice and detached. I use bone in thighs. I use my cast iron., fresh lemon juice and broth add rice, sit feta on top of that then thighs cover at first , broil at very end. I add fresh dill too. Sliced lemon on top too. So delicious.

We're in Iowa and have tons of rhubarb. I make jam, using Jell-O. So easy and good. The rhubarb takes on the flavor whatever Jell-O I use. I freeze many bags of it, 2 cups per bag. My husband likes it cooked up as sauce. I make it for him often during the winter. Desserts are wonderful. As a matter of fact, my job for our next week's Wednesday potluck is to make a rhubarb dessert. Never had or heard of onion soup but it sounds good.

Yes, I've had onion pie. Love Vidalia onions. Slice a bunch of onions, put in casserole dish, salt, pepper,dollars of butter over this. Bake about 20 mins, sprinkle cheese all over bake till melted. Good. Love your vlogs❤
