I always moly coat my projectiles thus the temp of the barrel seems not to be as much an issue and the groups are pretty consistent and small. Moly coating is CHEAP and easy. Love your channel. Rustyvw

I have 3 valkyries in different barrel lengths. I pull the federal 75 fmj and reseat the 75 eld-m at 2.250 col. I get .5 moa. I also load the 88 eld-m with 23.6 varget and get .5 or better moa . The 90 grain dont do so well with a 1:7 twist. Youll get a flyer every onve in a while. You had alot of mixed wind for testing. Pkus, 24 degrees is cold

Love you, love you Channel! The only thing that Barrel is tiring to tell you is replace me for a 22 Nosler. That cartridges just too problematic. Somehow someway you need to make the cold-bore shot great. If it's going to be way off you will never have any predictability about where it's going to shoot. Especially at long ranges. Finally your videos popped up on my feed I got a.224 Valkyrie same here I started reloading for it right off I like loading 62gr Hornady BTHP w/ shooters world match rifle powder and Hornady 88gr ELD w/ shooters world long rifle powder all with federal premium brass and federal premium AR match primers I have a 24" Blackhole weaponry rifle length barrel I shoot the 88gr out 1376yds and use the 62grainers for coyotes easily puts 1/2 moa or better at 320 yds it can be finicky to reload for with the heavier longer bullets because of the limited case capacity I start compressing the 88gr ELD's I need a better stem for the VLD types of bullets thx good stuff

I've had 3 different 224v barrels, all shot 60g sub moa, everything else looked liked buckshot. If I reloaded maybe I could have tightened up the other weight bullets.

It's time to send it down the road you should be able to use off the shelf ammo and get sub MOA groups even with a halfway decent off the shelf rifle this thing just seems to whip rounds out of no ware.

I have sub MOA out to 500 yds with the 224 Valkyrie Hornady factory 88 gr ELD match out of a 20’ criterion barrel. Wish I could find more of that ammo.

How long are the factory rounds compared to your handloads? I would think federal would most likely use alliant powders since they are, or were part of the same company.

I have a 224V rig that I enjoy but it too has fliers now and then. One thing I did to tighten up the groups by about half is to load by hand one round at a time instead of auto load from the magazine. I would like to see if you have the same result. My next outing I am going to chase a couple possibilities and measure runout. Auto loading this long round might cause some runout that shows up on target or a scarring of the jacket maybe. I'm open to all opinions but its consistent and tested with multiple shooters with the same result, tighter groups when loading a single round.

Were the barnes shot from a cold bore? It seems like it usually takes 3 or 4 rounds from a cold barrel for the groups to settle in.

Try the 224 hornady and federal varmint loads. 60gr federal noslers and 60gr hornady vmax!!!

Think your rifle may like a lot of jump. Would be afraid to try something a bit shorter My 6 X 47 with 95 tmk like a job of 120 tho But as we can have gas guns in the UK I've no idea as to how tight one of those will shoot Do like the idea of the pistol comp but no laughing at UK legal pistols is the best we get 😫

That first shot of your reloads I do not believe that it was you. It sounded somewhat under powered. As you know with the 224 Valkyrie that they can be finicky. You didn't say what powder, primer that they were loaded with. My build is similar to yours but a different barrel. I am having luck with the Hornady 88 gr bullet and I can't remember the powder charge, I know it was on the heavy side, using CFE 223 Its shooting 5 round groups .255.

Try it without the muzzle break and have a target crown on it. Plus put a David Tubbs buffer spring kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpewh42Yp9Opq5o with a H3 Buffer and a wedge to tighten the upper and lower.Try it out What part of the country do live at?

Mabe i got lucky have 2 Valkyries 18 22 inch i get 1 moa all factory rounds some times better, 75 grain seems sweet spot my rifles

Well you are write 80.5 bergers are hammers I have two different barrels 14twist and a 8 twist shaw barrels the 8 hammers 80.5 the difference is there for bolt gun not gas guns all the guys are having the same trouble you are with accuracy I shoot H-414 shoots great 100 200 and 300 yds again this is a bolt gun
