@@romesrepublic Dragon ball and dragon ball Z shows the use of grappling many times. Often Goku or someone else gets put in a chokehold, (the famous Goku bites Frieza's tail scene) though you pretty much never see it in the Tenkaichi Budokai probably because it's a tournament, with rules. You are correct, in that grappling is very effective against human opponents, but in Dragon Ball as a whole many of Goku's foes don't need to breathe, and their physiology/circulatory systems might even be in their skeleton so choking them wouldn't really do much. Like do Frieza or Cell have a blood supply that could be cut off by strangling the neck? Neither of them appear to need to BREATHE, so maybe their biology isn't something that a chokehold would work on. And it certainly wouldn't work on the Androids/Cyborgs/Majiin Buu. Batman fucks people up like a Batman does. Goku fucks people up like an alien does.

@Tyler Thompson Aliens in the DBZ universe are a whole nother thing entirely. Frieza, Buu, and a lot of the others can survive in space, with half of their bodies missing. But if you made Goku a human, even with all of his training, skills, and experience, Batman would still destroy him with relative ease. Batman is bigger, stronger, longer reach, and has a more complete knowledge of martial arts than any of the Z fighters. You need powers to beat Batman, plain and simple. Even then, there's no guarantee you'll win unless you catch him completely off guard.

One of my favorite things about the super manga is that it explains ultra instinct MUCH better than the anime by having roshi ask goku "when did martial arts become about who has the higher power level?" And then having him remember all the lessons his previous masters were teaching him which almost all centered around conservation of energy when moving and dodging, honing his martial arts technique rather than his physical power.

The series gave a great example of that when Goku fought Freiza when he brought Freiza back from his hell. Freiza supposedly trained for the first time in his life, gained a new form and got ridiculously powerful. Freiza lost all his steam and lost the fight because he trained up to that form but didn’t train using that form.

He's a martial arts master who has learned from countless masters. He'd also arguably still have the ability of reacting with his body and not his mind, so a ultra instinct sign is theoretically still fundamentally possible even if we grant no powers. all goku has to do is utilize his instincts and he has UI in base. We've seen that in the manga he doesn't have to transform to use the UI technique, so while he's not getting stronger, his reaction time will still be crazy.

Did you forget about Divine energy/God ki since its a angel level technique that is used to activate UI omen, sign, and Sayain Instinct (manga) as well as the aura which is seen the heat it caused within TOP arc in his final fight against Jiren and since Goku is using the technique improperly as stated by Whis UI for goku is a power up itself considering the negative side effects of stamina drain as the fight prolongs this is a fight with no powers LOL so it cannot be used even whis himself has demonstrated over and over using UI with no aura around him showing his TRUE mastery. And we have seen base goku get bruised on his arm from bullets in DBS anime episode 77 showing that he to has human level durability even the fact that a laser gun was able to almost kill a SSG blue fatigued Goku in "Resurrection of F Movie". Goku also drops his guard a lot of times showcasing his recklessness to which Whis and other have to point that out to him when they train seriously meanwhile batman is more polished, perfected, and resourceful a master tactician.

This highlights my biggest problem with batman. He is not "human" and has not been for a very long time. Half of the things he does are physically impossible for a human regardless of technique or skill because our physiology has built-in limitations. Being smart enough to know where the god-like being moving at light speed is going to punch him won't help when he is being hit a million times before his brain can physically send the signal to his mussels to move. If he can somehow react to that, then by definition he is superhuman and thus no longer "human". It's exactly like his sneaking around superman feats. Superman has been shown to hear beyond dimensions so no amount of skill would make it possible for an actual human to go undetected. batman would somehow have to move without his neurons firing, without his mussels moving, without any internal biological functions occurring and without moving attoms to be that silent and no amount of skill makes that possible.

I feel like a lot of Dragon ball vs Marvel/DC matchups are often a bit unfair to begin with. Dragon Ball is a series written by one guy over just a few decades with Long breaks inbetween, while Marvel and DC charatcers have been around almost twise as Long with multiple writers who all have different interpretations of the charatcers, ranking from keeping them more grounded and human to godlike and unstoppable people who can beat every character they come across. So the fact that Dragon Ball often loses these matchup shouldnt really come as that much of a surprise

The issue is each author is writing an alternative character. Adam west batman isn’t very powerful. But he is still batman. Early batman would struggle with some real humans. Modern batman is literally superhuman in feats

That in some stories, Batman is not really that powerful, but those stories still take place in the rebirth continuity, or the older continuities it spawned from. So we end up with a Batman that could basically solo some verses with just his martial art skills, not because of Seth is being biased, but because that is what happens when multiple people tackle the same charatcers and you have thousands of stories that all have to work together.

While DC/Marvel characters often have their weaknesses and their low points/limits depending on the writer DB characters are constantly getting stronger since the writer is constantly trying to one-up himself and introduce new even more powerful Villians that could easily oneshot the old ones and new forms for the characters to be able to defeat them.

Goku could keep up with and adapt to martial Arts masters when he was a kid. That was before Korin's training where he could predict how his opponents are going to move by reading their breathing. Or Popo's training where he learned how to make his movements so effecient he can put on a bell and then do a flip without ringing it. The biggest thing here that Seth didn't touch on is the size difference. Bats is MASSIVE. And with all that skill and all that mass Goku if both were humans with no powers and stuff is just fighting at a severe disadvantage from the jump. The Wondy and Ares wank is SILLY but just being able to scrap with them and not get his chest caved in on a daily is impressive. Another thing Seth left out is how he scales to the other gods are martial arts in DC. Shiva and Richard Dragon both have reacted to lasers on multiple occasions. And Shiva has the ability to see react learn and counter any strike and technique after seeing it once. And Bats fights them fairly well often. That means that Bats has to throw a different strike every strike or Shiva runs right through him. The power scaling of humans in America cape stories just aren't fair for these types of fights.

I love how unbiased you are with your content. While Goku is insanely gifted and adaptable, batman's entire character is based around using techniques, tools, intuition and intelligence to defeat gods. The only way i see Goku possibly winning is as you said, through submission techniques. However I'm sure batman has techniques to counter those or dislocate specific joints to set himself free etc. Goku can't even use hypnosis or drunken fist because batman has faces similar foes as well. So in about every scenario batman wins.

I think if we give Goku UI Omen it becomes a really interesting and drawn out match. They both have thrown hands with stronger opponents and put in work with just their raw skill, adaptability and precognition countless times. The problem here is that Batman has no super powers to speak of so he'd be at full power where-as many of the techniques and skills that Goku has mastered over his life-time would not be a tool in his arsenal anymore, much of which has been a focus of his training in recent time since he's fighting galaxy level threats; things that would even give Superman a run for his money. Batman is effectively fighting Karate Kid with Saiyan biology and quirks so he's heavily favored to win. Here's why I say that, Goku would be having the time of his life fighting someone as skilled as Bats and even if he saw an opportunity to bring the fight to an early close since there are no established stakes in this scenario (it's not like Bats is going to blow up the Earth or some nonsense) AND given that he's the type of person who LIVES TO BE PUSHED TO THE LIMIT OF HIS ABILITY he would intentionally draw out the fight as long as possible to get the most out of it. Goku is genuinely the type of guy to get his ass kicked and be back after eating a sensu bean asking for round 2 until he's got you figured out well enough that he can can beat your ass. So in a single bout this would almost certainly go to Batman but much like how he has his sights set on beating Beerus, Goku would eventually get the W on Bats even if it took him losing hundreds or thousands of times in the process.

If Batman was fighting a Goku who doesn't have transformation or kyo ken, then definitely everything Seth has said 100% valid facts. Also Batman has kept up with Superman who has laser eyes, so it would be alright if Goku uses his ki range attacks as long as Batman has full use of his gadgets. Even still, it comes down to Batman only being able to keep up with a base form Goku. Eventually, Goku would be overwhelming Batman simply with his Sayian biology. Goku would be getting stronger as they fight. But if we were to remove that factor from Goku, it would technically be a win for Batman in a full martial arts contest. He has fought and defeated human bases enemy who were physically and combat superior like Bane.

At the end of the day you can’t make both of them human. Goku is an Alien and Batman isn’t. This wouldn’t be important if Saiyans were equal to humans, but they aren’t. Planet Vegeta’s gravity is 10 times that of earth. Science literally tells you that people who live on a planet with a more intense gravity would naturally evolve to have stronger bones, muscle fibers, and overall strength to compensate. It’s the same argument to why we have weight classes except let’s say they are the same weight(hypothetically speaking) but the point is goku’s muscle fibers would be so crazy in an MMA match with no “powers” that there’s no way Batman outpowers him. Outclassing I can see that point. But then that brings the argument how is he gonna outclass a guy who has such a high bone density that you literally kicking him can break your leg. And this isn’t something that’s make believe it happened to Anderson Silva verses someone with the same weight and density, you’re better off leg kicking a bus repeatedly. Well which Wonder Woman specifically, cause DCEU WW for example is very sub-planetary while Infinite Frontier Wonder Woman on the other hand literally walks over the Omniverse(includes everything DC ever published in it's historty) like it's a street crossing XD? I think Goku wouldn’t get UI since it’s an anime power, but instead he should get Mushin which is basically UI without the amps. His evolutionary adaptations would be improved however. Edit: I'm incredibly annoyed because currently around 20 of the 24 replies are saying how Goku in the manga and Anime can use UI MISSING THE POINT THAT THIS VIDEO ISN'T MANGA NOR ANIME GOKU. This is one of things where the question is really: “If Master Rossi existed in DC canon how much better would he be than the top martial artists in that universe?” The answer to that directly determines who wins this. Goku is a Master. Hands down. The person with the most styles doesn’t determine who wins, IF all other things being equal. I dont think Batman has more skill than Goku at fighting. He has more SKILLS plural, but he’s not more SKILLED at fighting. You only need to master YOUR Martial art to its pinnacle. Analogy: For a race you can pick whatever car you want (in the correct class) the one who wins the race is gonna be the better driver, not the guy with more cars. Batman just has a longer and more detailed history EXPLAINING how good he is, where Anime just stays vague and says “this dude is the best fighter I’ve ever seen” and leaves it there. Fun thought experiment though. I think they would go back and forth taking wins off each other. But I do think Batman would win the very first spar they do.

Plus, he's fighting different kinds of opponents with different styles also. His main strength is his adaptability. Goku has trained under Roshi, yes, but he's also trained under Popo, Kami, King Kai, Whis, and has fought in multiple world martial arts tournaments as well as multiversal tournaments against the strongest fighters in multiple parallel universes, and basically took the win (aside from / despite U.I. being "incomplete" at the time). He has also practiced what he preaches by literally fighting/defeating the strongest villains at planetary, galactic, and universal scales over the course of the DBZ / DBS and manga arcs. In no universe does Bruce Wayne beat Goku unaided on raw martial arts / strength / speed alone. He's not even in the same league / class as Goku. He can't even keep up on speed (which Goku canonically moves faster than any standard human perception [e.g., Mr. Satan, anyone who hasn't trained to his level, etc.]; they can't even perceive Goku's movement while fighting, only the sonic booms and such of the fighters' "clashes"). Bruce Wayne fares no better on strength, as Goku has literally trained in at least 100x if not 1,000x, 10,000x Earth's gravity, if not more on Beerus' / Whis' planet. And, to be frank, even in "base form" by the end of Super, Goku has approximately SSJ God/Red level power. Bruce Wayne, simply hasn't had that kind of training in either strength or speed. HE sure as hell isn't even a planetary-level ffighter, let alone galactic, universal, or God-level. Goku bodies Bruce Wayne / Batman, all day, every day. Before Bruce Wayne can even blink. It's where you're so good at fighting that the body instinctively moves in the perfect way for you. You clearly didn't read the manga where Roshi actually achieved it for a short time and dodged Jirens attacks. If you dont believe me, look it up yourself.

No he wouldn't. He needs gadgets to win. Batman may know martial arts but he doesn't train as much as goku. He doesn't train with elite coaches and training partners like goku. All goku does is train and fight. Batman doesn't and because he's worried about his identity he can't train with the best fighters. Goku has won world and universal tournaments for fighing. Batman hasn't

Goku used ultra instinct in his normal forms in the granolah arc. So while he can't use his white haired form or omen, he can use those UI principles in base now.

@@youareacoward8459 read the manga again, Ultra Instinct is a technique AND a form. You can use Ultra Instinct the technique without using "chi"/ki because it uses martial art principles

I do agree Batman wins. But i think you overstate some of Batman's feats a bit. And in OG Dragon Ball it is in a futuristic setting of earth, With aliens and extreme emphasis on martial arts all throughout the Universe actually. Grandpa Gohan was Goku's first teacher which taught him martial arts from a small baby, he was probably a master of all earth martial arts styles. The next was Master roshi and he had to have mastered all he trained for hundreds of years, and then kami, king Kai is basically the god of martial arts, and has watched fighters all over the universe for millions of years. TBH i think martial arts skills is redundant here, Goku on screen does Kung Fu and Shaolin martial arts style of fighting, he kicks alot more is the biggest difference. Batman typically looks more like American kickboxing. I think it would be completely unreasonable to say he has more martial arts knowledge than King Kai or Whis. I think this would be a very good fight and Batman does not outclass Goku. The truth is if Goku ever seen Batman he would think he was the coolest thing he ever seen in his life though lol.

I would actually love to see Owl Man in his suit vs Goku. That’s actually on par basic strength wise since he could handle short bouts with power houses.
