Contact/email: matt@golfsidekick.com for collaboration/partnership opportunities I played this round in 2018. It was part of a 9 day golfing spree where we played 9 courses in 9 days.
The thing i really learned from these rounds was to hit the most stress free shot at all times. I mean, I could have saved tons of strokes just NOT hitting the stressful shot.
hit those stressful shots on your solo practice rounds and get over the fear. During a round you're scoring on and want to do well, just hit the stress free shot at that moment

Please take my advice, I've never tried it, so tell me how it works out!
If you play conservative golf, and often playing for the par or bogey based on your handicap level, or opportunities that arise, then you will like every NEW golf course you play. If I ever get to play Pebble beach, you can bet your last red cent I will be playing conservative golf.
I want to walk away from it with my head held high. If I put up an 82 at Pebble, I will feel great and to score that for me, is very easy if I play conservative golf. If I don't, then the score can really balloon on a new course where you don't know antyhign and are not comfortable yet.
This is the Way of the Playa and don't do what i did on the par 5 where I hit 2 OB even though i ddin't want to hit that shot. I walked that hole without playing it and I haven't been back to this course to try again. It's a great course and now I have a memory of that par 5 being unfinished.
That sucks...keep on keeping on and don't get down. Just keep jamming

Matt following the WOTP i had ordered a Ping G410 Crossover 2 iron,had to wait a couple of months for it do to the virus. Used it last week for the first time in my mens club (have just recently joined) and cashed for the first time! No OB tee shots on tight holes,waddajoy waddagame...Wadda2iron! At 64 years old i never thought of hitting a 2 iron,but after watching Matt and the WOTP i tried one & i'm glad i did. Off the tee or the deck it is the club that i did not know i was Missing! Man, I've been golfing since I was 5 years old (now 27). I used to golf up to 50 times a year (I live in Canada, so we have short golf season), but then slowed down for a while due to price of playing. For the last 3 years I've started getting back into it and had 1 goal: break 80. I could not get over the hump until I started watching you. I broke 80 for the first time in my life yesterday, with a 77. Your videos have completely changed my mental game - keep doing what you're doing Matt!

I've been a long time viewer of your content. I've probably watch every single one of your videos. It's helped my game tremendously over the past year. I'm down to a single digit handicap now. In this video you talked about fitness and how it impacts the golf game. Over the past 18 months I have also followed a ketogenic diet and it has helped with my overall fitness and aches/pains. I'm going to start a carnivore diet as that is supposed to help even more with inflammation in the body. First time commenting, again, thanks for making these videos. I always look forward to the next video. It would be awesome some day if we were ever in the same area to sync up and play a round or two together.

I'm a beginner golfer, got my hcp 54 last weekend. I'm trying to implement your thinking into my game, avoiding the traps and working on the close game. I played today on my local golf clubs short course, 2 rounds. Played around the bunkers, aimed the ball left if I had OB close to right and so on. With exception of some just bad strokes, I had a couple of really nice rounds. Had more balls with me back from the course, than I began with.

What's helped me most is the focusing on chipping and putting. It feels a lot less daunting off the tee and from a long ways away when I tell myself just hit the ball into a spot where it can be par valley, bogey at worst. Sometimes the guy hitting the putt forgets the goal of getting the ball to go into the hole, but still has been a ton of fun. Question are some of the old reliable shirt options ever making a rerun? I was just curious

Your swing looks really free here. You can tell you're just stepping up to the ball with confidence. One thing I've noticed, your pace on the putts always seems to be dying at the hole. If you get 8-12" past the hole statistically they have more chance of dropping. Plus if you miss long you have seen the break of the putt as it rolled past.

Surfdog is so groovy. Fitness: Weak core, less stable swing knots in the entire back, from lower to uppr back, restricted range of motion knots in the right side meant the right side acts as a decelerator, while the left side is firing to accelerate weak hamstrings, means leaning forward onto my toes too much Lots. Hey Golf Sidekick, I hope you can shed light on this matter. I was playing a friendly but competitive golf game with my brother and he hit his ball down the fair and when we went to look for it we couldn't find it. So he hit a provisional and hit that ball out of bounds. He dropped another ball and hit that ball, so we start heading towards that golf ball and we come to find his original ball that we thought was lost. He starts playing that ball and doesn't want to count the other 2 strokes he played before finding his original lost ball. How would you rule this??
@GolfSidekick
@GolfSidekick 4 жыл бұрын
Well in the circumstance as you state: me vs my brother, I let him play original ball because whatever I am not one of those rules addicts who have to do everything 100% by the book as if the enjoyment of golf depends on how strictly i can follow rules. If its not my brother or good friend and some other person in a proper match or tournament where it affects other people, then they must go back to the tee and hit their 3rd shot. Declaring a lost ball is the end of the story and you need to proceed by hitting another one from the original position with a penalty. Whether you find the original on the way back to the tee or not, the ball was already deemed lost and the 3 minutes is up. But like I say, and this happens in friendly competitive games with me and friends... if you find the first one, no one cares, its still clearly in play on or just off the fairway - no one else is affected just your fourball. No harm no foul. Just jam the first ball. Rules are great for pro golf and important amateur matches and tournaments but if everyone is in agreement in a private game within a fourball, who really needs those competition rules? In my group of friends, We even play preferred lies on fairways even if the club hasnt stated you can. If your ball is on stones and yoir club will be damaged by the shot, we allow you to move it to a similar position a few feet away where the difficulty faced on the shot is the same. As long as no one else is affected by this then its totally at your discretion man. Easy life. Golf gets really unenjoyable when we start arguing about rules as friends. I say better to have consensus and just enjoy the day.
