I wish I had had this song when I started my braces because I'm a few months away from finishing my braces. Also, besides my dad, I am taller than my family. Last July I was 5'3, then I hit several growth spurts, and now I am nearing 5'8. And while to most that is still short, to my family, I am the tall kid.

My 13 yearold (a big fan of PC) has had her braces on for a year now. Orthodontics has come light years in the last 40 years! I told my daughter that dinosaurs put my braces on by comparison. Dr. T-Rex with his Raptor assistants.

I wish this song would have been out when I got braces 6 years ago. I REALLY did not want them, but ended up with them anyway. I did everything I was supposed to do and now I have perfectly straight teeth. It can be a tough process, kids. Just stay patient and you will find the results are worth the wait.

Penn was even cute as a child. PC is sooooo cute too! I LOVED my braces. Had the BEST orthodontist in Texas and one in Illinois and now have the best dentist in Florida. Follow their advice, PC and it will all be worth it.

I know this video is about a lot more than braces, but Penn Charles is lucky to have parents who can afford to give him braces at an early age. I had to wait until I was 24 and could finance them myself. Best thing I ever did, but I so wish it had happened 10 years earlier.

You guys are the best parents ever! Your kids are awesome because of you! I had braces back in 1975-77 and they were the old-style metal bands that they would painfully jam onto each tooth until you thought you wanted t die. Fast forward: My husband has straight teeth and a mouth large enough to accommodate his wisdom teeth. Three sons later, they all needed braces! Two of them didn’t wear their retainers as they should and now their teeth aren’t as straight as they should be, so please keep on him about that. I’m sure you will and when it’s all over he will look even more fabulous than he already does. Good luck, PC and hang in there! You won’t regret it! ❤❤❤

Great song! I love seeing the photos of you. I hope he doesn't have to wear them too long. He is adorable. I had gotten mine on in 4th grade. I got them off in 7th grade. Then, when I was 18, I had to have jaw surgery and have my bottom jawbone cut and moved back because my bottom teeth had moved back to an under bite position. Before the surgery, they had put braces back on so they could wire my jaw shut for 6 weeks. It wasn't fun using a syringe to eat liquid things with. Lol. TFS💕💕💕

My husband who is now 72 had ‘braces’ when he was a kid……his parents thought they went to a reputable dentist who advertised as orthodontics…..NOPE…..it’s almost embarrassing how his teeth are…….overbite…….etc. my husband blames it on the ‘retainer’……😢 in the end, his parents and he were lied to and ripped off. I know it is 60 years later, but folks do your homework as his parents should have. 💜

I was wearing braces and I know how difficult it can be sometimes . So I want to give your kid a hack that helped me. Always have ice cream or his favourite yogurt so he can eat them , the cold helps a lot if he feels any discomfort or pain . I wish penn Charles good luck 😊😊

Wow how this time flies, I was just looking at Facebook memories of going out to the sapphire fields, hoping we’d dig up a sapphire for my daughter 16 th birthday. (No we bombed out and we brought a stone and had it set.). These photos and memories are 13 years old! My son was turning 13 in the September, wonderful memories that feel like yesterday. My daughter is now married and expecting my second grandchild, we take our first grandchild out in winter to the gem fields and like her mummy and uncle she loves it.

I only had bottom braces because of an overbite and I still have a retainer on those teeth that I needed to get replaced like three times! I'm in college!

You can do it. Straight teeth give you more than a great smile. They help you keep your teeth as you age. So worth the frustration of having them.

I ain't gonna lie, the first few years of adjustments can be rough, depending on the individual. I had an overbite that ten years down the line would have caused a permanent inflammation. My treatment started in 1999 and now in 2023 I still have braces, but they are on the inside of my teeth and not visible unless you really stare into my open mouth. My teeth are straight right now and it's definitely worth it, but I can't tell you it won't be painless.

I hated braces, but my students are so excited when they get them. I even have one tenth grader who deliberately missed her last appointment because she was supposed to get hers removed. Kids are confusing sometimes.🤷‍♀

Back in my day, before you could get braces, you had to have your tonsils and adenoids out. Penn it will hurt for a bit, but it's worth it Keep smiling

The jaw alignment with the bands was far worse than the braces themselves for me, though still wearing my permanents on upper and lower 20 plus years later and only feel them when something I eat messes with the wire. Its an annoying few years, but it passes. The height thing for Penn surprised me though, I was always the tallest in every grade and just ended up way taller than most people, truly fascinating how growth works for different people in vastly different ways sometimes.

So sweet. He will survive. Braces and glasses back in my day meant you were a “dork” or whatever. My kiddo who just turned 23 had them for over four years. Spacers, pallet expander we had to turn with a key twice a day. Bands, headgear, etc. 🤣 She has two permanent retainers on the inside of her two front and bottom teeth and still wears the plastic one. 😂

Best wishes. I wanted to say a few warnings though. I have seen a few people that have a permanent faint gray line across their front teeth from their retainer. Maybe it was fitted wrong or it reacted to food and drink acids? Also, bright white spots left behind from the brackets. It is so important they are always rinsing or even swishing with water after food/drink and brushing often. 😊

I never was taken to a dentist as a kid. I took myself the first time when I was 18. My wife's teeth are in such bad shape now due to the bone loss caused but her orthodontiia treatment as a girl.
