These last few months have been hard but Today is an especially hard day.
Had to say goodbye to my Pup of 6 years.
He was strong &
fought hard to the end against his cancer.
He just passed an hour ago with loved ones around.

I actually had lost my own dog michael 2 years ago me and my family were broken and we couldn't even afford a proper burial for him but we have a new dog her name is sashi and we love but still we never forget about michael but eventually we healed with time so keep your head up man im not saying it will happen fast but it will get better man

When my grandparents lost their dog, even though I wasn't close to him, it still had me down. I can't possibly fathom the level of grief you're experiencing right now, because it's obviously so much higher. I got my first dog just a few months ago, he was two months old. He's half boxer and now looks just like Ramboh in a lighter shade of brown. I can't imagine losing him after just six years instead of the expected ten that they can live for. I know I don't know you, and you don't know me Jax, but we both know what is to love a dog, and in that sense you are not alone. As I hope you can see in all these other comments, you can grow past this pain. It will always hurt, but less than the gaping hole you must have in your chest. It will hurt less.

I'm so sorry Jordan. Take all the time you need. Losing a beloved pet is tough, especially when you are going through other stuff too. I remember losing my dog to cancer too, about a week after my longest relationship ever ended and losing my job the day after that break up. The week after that the pandemic put us all into lockdown and honestly I felt broken. I know I'm probably pretty blessed to say that it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through in my life, but as you said at 10:00 I nearly drowned in that grief. Turned hard to drugs at first to numb the pain, which wasn't clever, it was like putting a hello kitty plaster on a big infected wound. The thing that helped the most was taking the time I needed to just focus on myself. Your feelings are valid, take it one step at a time and never forget: all dogs go to heaven.
