i noticed that you were using the shark at it's highest temperature setting so I'm not sure if the lab was tested on it's lowest or highest setting!

It gets hotter and more powerful so yes it creates more damage in the long run. I have both and the Dyson curls stay longer and curling barrels are easier to use. Plus the button placement for the Dyson is more ergonomic. I’m returning the shark

At the end you can still use the cool air to low down the temperature if it rises too much

Dyson has a cool button setting below the other two heat settings. It’s the third one on the bottom of the button of the heat settings
