People dont talk enough about the improved modem on the 9 series. Im in Whitby (near Toronto). Both me and my wife have had the 6, 7, and 8 Pixel series phones on Bell and Telus and the call reception was awful. On the Pixel 6 and 7 series the data was bad too. For both of us, the 9 series has dramatically improved on this front. Anecdotally other Pixel users have said the same. Improved modem performance was the reason I switched us to the 9 series...it has outperformed the iPhone 15 and Galaxy 24 users I hang out with as well.

I do think the Tensor chip will hold up for seven years, even though it’s not as powerful as the competition. I just booted up my old OnePlus 5T with the Snapdragon 835 runs and handles most day to day apps just fine. With that said, it’s so far behind the competition at this point that they should be selling the Pixel at a midrange price point.

I ended up upgrading to the Pixel 9 from my Pixel 4 about a month after the 9 released and I do love the display and design of the phone but imo I much prefer the Pixel 4. The ultrasonic sensor barely works when a screen protector os on even with enabling the extra sensitivity and lack of IR sensor so i can't do face unlock in the dark or with sunglasses on is suuuuper annoying. I also liked the smaller size of the pixel 4

Tensor G4...That's why i didn't buy the small Pixel 9 Pro. It's not normal my iPhone 13 Pro is able to edit and export a 4K quicker than Pixel 9 Pro. I agree, ChatGPT gives me more accurate answer in English and other languages. Gemini has a lot to improve. I'm really curious about Tensor G5. Either Google succeed or people won't buy this Pixel.

I really like your videos, but this one was surprisingly having some issues I would not expect from you. Especially in the AI segment. First the Google Voice search is not the Assistant. It is basically a Google Search with voice feature. It is not the most elegant solution to me, but a different usecase. But then, instead of just instantly talking to Gemini for the Voice Input you start Gemini Live, which is a very lightweight instantly answering no connection to anything service. It is "just a fancy tech demo of how to talk in real time". Gemini itself is capable of doing all these things you asked for. By either using Gemini's normal voice input, or typing the request. There it also uses a cloud based image generated, while the one in Pixel Studio is a very lightweight on the phone-ish one. Mistakes can happen, but combined with blaming lazy app ports and some other aspects it feels weirdly "I did not like the phone and need some reasons to list" like than the usually pretty informed way. The phone has flaws and should be criticized for them. But mentioning these things as weaknesses with their own segments is just feeling off.

This is the best review I have seen. I have been considering upgrading from my Pixel 6, and I don't do contracts with phone companies here in Canada. I've spent weeks on Google store; I can't stomach Google's asking price, even with the discount. It came down to 2 choices 1. Wait for the next Pixel. 2. If you are going to spend over $1,200 for a pixel with 256GB of storage, you might as well make the leap and get an iphone. Thoughts?

Thanks for the long term review. I've been tempted to get one of these since hardware has improved the last few generations. I had a pixel 4 and software issued pushed me back to Samsung. These phones look the part but it seems Google still struggles with software that feels like it's in beta. The g4 having half the performance of the 8elite definitely isn't helping. PS. As a car enthusiast I loved all the b-roll. Good luck with the valve cover gasket. Wouldn't be an old bmw if it wasn't leaking 😅

The fact they are not physical dual-sim phones is one of the things that make me hesitant. But really, in general, I keep hearing stuff that makes it sound like they slacked off on various aspects of the hardware while still charging flagship range prices... And it doesn't help the news that they've downsizing their phone departments and merging the software and hardware folks, kinda makes it sound like internally they're already planning on/expecting that side of the company to be heading to the shitter. I only still keeping an eye on it 'cause maybe because of Graphene might be the best option for privacy; got lotsa other models on my list that are pending researching some important details to decide if getting a Pixel 9 is worth the sacrifices and cost...

I've been using a Pixel 9 since September as a replacement for my Galaxy S10e. It's fine. It was a bit expensive at 700€ (including VAT) but in the end it's an okay phone. The screen is really bright outdoor, the speakers are okay, the camera is okay, the battery life is okay (1.5 day of usage). as someone that doesn't play games or use the """"AI"""" features on it, it's a good enough phone, a bit too pricy. The design is really nice however. TLDR it's a boring phone as it should be, unless you want to play Genshin

This is by far the worst review ive ever seen on this channel. The Instagram issue is not the fault of the phone and seems to be an app issue. No mention of the face unlock that can be used on secure apps with no ir needed. You used Gemini wrong. Gemini Live is for conversations and that first icon that pops up would be so much better to find recent stuff or asking about stuff on your phone. Also, all the issues with temps you claim to have must be due to user error. I have not had any issue with thermals with this device in southwest US 100+ degree weather. In fact, my iPhone 15 Pro Max has had issues in this department. This review screams " i dont know how to use an android device, much less review one!". Btw, ive had issues with several apps on iPhone, should i count it against the phone? See how ridiculous that sounds. Terrible review, stick to PCs
