LOTS of people say it like him. He has an Estuary English accent. I have the same accent and so does most of my family. That is how we say fuck off. It has been heavily influenced by the cockney accent as the 20th century pushed lower class Londoner's out of the eastend and down southeast. Not that all people who have an Estuary accent say fuck off like he does, but most of us do.

I do believe the original poster is speaking of tone, intensity, facial expression... the delivery of the phrase more than the accent with which it was spoken.

You should check out those clip compilations comparing Gordon in Master Chef Junior, where kids compete, and Gordon in Master Chef or Hell's Kitchen. Night and day. I'm guessing his personal philosophy is that adults should already know better.

Gordon's only harsh to people who claim to be professional chefs, because that's his job, that's what being a head chef is all about. You can't pussyfoot around with people when you are a head chef in a professional Michelin star rated kitchen. It's not like fucking McDonalds. People expect A LOT when they go to a professional restaurant. With amateurs and children he is the nicest man in the world though.

Comedy is all about relating to the subject. If you've ever had to deal with stupid coworkers, employees, rabid people, etc, you'll probably end up liking the way he thinks. As a kid, you probably only really recognized yelling as being the person who gets yelled at. Most likely you'd feel like being yelled at was unfair (even if it really turns out you totally deserved it lol).

What many people misunderstand about Chef Ramsay is that what Americans interpret as agression and intolerance is an expression of passion. When he yells at people it's because he cares about what he's making; it's not to tear them down. On the contrary, it's to build them up, and a challenge to do better. With that said, it's definitely an act for an American audience. If you watch his British shows, he's much more restrained. Perhaps Americans relate more to agression and bluntness.

It's kind of interesting how differently he has been portrayed in US and UK media. In the US, he's mostly known as a brutal, aggressive and somewhat arrogant showman, whereas in the UK his image is more that of a tough and strict but altogether rational entrepreneur and chef. Of course, he himself probably created that kind of branding to appeal to the respective national audiences, but it seems like he is now trying to rein in his d-bag image in the US a bit.

There was the time he had a bunch of children in to cook, and they were crying cause things were too salty, or not cooked right, and he was the most fatherly, tender, loving man as he worked to cheer the kids up, teach them how to fix their mistakes and make something they can be proud of. He's only a major asshole to people who say they're great cooks. Prove yourself, or stop calling yourself great. He'll call you out, because people's enjoyment or possibly even health are on the line.

its because a lot of families in America don't want to actually use their parental controls, or limit their child's TV time per day or week, or actually give effort and take responsibility for what programming their kids absorb, so they decided to create strict broadcasting rules instead. its easier to do that than it is to allow a swear word on Adult Swim apparently.

get your half baked nonsense commentary outta here man. here's a list of reasons why nothing you wrote makes sense. "If you think the OP was asking for regular Americans to write to their local news station with an appeal to allow curse worse" 1. no, i KNOW op was not asking americans to appeal to the fcc to allow uncensored profanity on tv, which begs a follow up question: 2. how did you even come up with that thought? why would you even assume THAT was what i picked up from op's comment? "It's just a word, please grow up." 3. also, you probably didn't recognize this because you were too busy not making sense, but i was responding to this part of op's incredibly stupid comment. it's just as futile to tell americans to grow up because of tv censorship laws as it is to suggest complaining to the fcc to get rid of bleeping. that's just the way things are on american tv and frankly, i don't have a problem with bleeping profanity on television. "See what i did there? Threw your foul language right back at you. Maybe the regular American should complain to the FCC? How come you speak in such a foul tone but when it comes to your TV there is censorship left, right and center? -None American asks about curse words on TV without cursing. -American replies that there are no curse words on TV with multiple curses....Hmmmmm." 4. and this^^^^^^... what the fuck is this LOL

Evan Nibbe Who are you to decide what freedom of speech is for? What gives you that right? If you don't believe in freedom of speech for people you disagree with the most then you don't believe in it at all. I would like to think the same applies to words. I should be allowed to say whatever words i want. Also who decides what wirds qualify as 'bad' i could say pie is a bad word and try to censor people from saying it but that would be immoral so what's the difference? Also if we only used the words that were required to get our meaning across then we would never have tapped into verbal art like poetry or storytelling. 'Bad' words as most people define them serve many valuable purposes such as enphasising an emotion or as a shorthand for a longer explanation ie "i stubbed my toe and am now in pain" can simply become "ah fuck that hurt " ,

It feels a bit surreal seeing 2 of my favourite TV personalities together. Gordon might be played up as a dick but even just watching the TV shows, you know he's not really like that (unless someone is acting tough, and you see him intimidate them... maybe that's fake too :P) Anyway, watch his UK stuff when you get the chance. Gordon is rough on the edges but also insightful and witty. He's given himself a few phrases in the US to repeat I suppose to make a more lasting impression but it also takes away from what an intellect he is.

He only yells at people who claim to be amazing chefs or just cocky assholes, and then they screw up on making scallops. Watching Hell's Kitchen I noticed there are quite a few chefs on there that don't really get yelled at, and are screwed by their team. Masterchef Juniors are my favourite though. He is an amazing judge and helps them succeed where they can without giving them an advantage.

DamienDarksideBlog Also people who just aren't seeing how awful they are at restauranting in general. The episode I caught, three sisters had gone in together to open a place, but all they could do is fight with each other over management things. One of their daughters saw how terribly things were going and learned to cook, so she could help. The sisters brought Gordon Ramsey in to decide which one of them was right, and he says they're all wrong. The daughter is the only one who has any business being there. She lit up like she'd never heard a compliment in her life. He was so sweet and encouraging to her ^_^

midgetelantrian8 tbh a lot of restaurants I have seen from the show and in person suffer from poor management of their restaurant. its sad when people dont go into it with heart or lose their drive to keep their restaurants up and running to their peak all or most of the time. personally in a restaurant i worked at. when my uncle worked there when he was younger. he said everything was spotless, they 6 chefs, 20 waiters, 15 food runners, 3 dishwashers and 4 cashiers and so on. when i got the there. only 2 chefs, 5 waiters, 5 food runners and the duty of dishwasher was rotated amongst employees. the owner of the place doesnt care anymore and she is paying $200,000 n lawsuits each year, so yeah. gordon has all the reason to be the way he is with owners and workers when they neglect their duties.

Dude what went down, word for word, was that Stephen brought up the fact that Gordon Ramsay had michelin stars, and wanting to signal to the host that he was paying attention, Ramsay said yes. Then they moved on to other matters. It took literally 2 seconds in a 560 second interview. Ramsay most definitely did not "go on about it."

But people can be petty for so long and that's because as humans when we come to realize that we are wrong or our character needs to improve we have 1 of 2 choices. Not gonna complain about the censorship, but about the portrayal of Ramsay in the US media. You could tell the audience truly believed when he said that he slaughtered the turkey in front of his daughter. You could also tell that he was constantly trying to impress them. It happens with certain celebrities but whenever I see Ramsay on a US talk show he is always trying to impress an audience that already thinks he is constantly mean.
