"Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is a television programme featuring British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay first broadcast on Channel 4 in 2004.
In each episode, Ramsay visits a failing restaurant and acts as a troubleshooter to help improve the establishment in just one week. Ramsay revisits the restaurant a few months later to see how business has fared in his absence. Episodes from series one and two have been re-edited with additional new material as Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares Revisited; they featured Ramsay checking up on restaurants a year or more after he attended to them.
An American adaptation of this show, titled Kitchen Nightmares, debuted 19 September 2007 on Fox. It is broadcast in the UK on Channel 4 as Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares USA. Its run ended on 12 September 2014."

Just a fun fact: emporary tattoos are an actual thing that exists. Like henna tattoos for example. It fades when skin renews itself and fading away can take anything from few days to few weeks.

Update: for those of you that don’t know, this one doesn’t have a happy ending. After Gordon visited Canpania’s in March 2007, the restaurant was packed & doing great. Joe won Chef Central’s Ultimate Chef competition in 2008 & came runner up in 2009. However he was too far in debt & he sold the restaurant in September 2010. Eight days later he committed suicide by jumping over the George Washington bridge into the Hudson River. It later emerged he was in a relationship with Jessica who worked in his restaurant while still being married to his wife. Also a few months before his suicide, Joseph had been busted for cocaine at his restaurant & was reportedly “shaking & sweating profusely” & needed medical assistance. What’s really eerie is when Gordon says to Joe “you’re business is about to swim down the f**king Hudson!” Gordon’s visit to the show was a very positive one & played no part in what happened, his family said. R.I.P. Joe

Eight days later Joe Cerniglia committed suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson river. It later emerged that he was in a relationship with Jessica, a pastry chef who worked at the restaurant and not the waitress of the same name featured in the episode. Campania closed in January 2011.

Camera crew is there days maybe even a couple weeks before Gordon gets there. Filming interviews and b-roll footage and getting staff comfortable with cameras. I'm ready to pit money on the fact that some shots that are shown as a part of Gordon's visit are actually shot well beforehand and used there to build a narrative.
