I think it would've been epic if you could encounter the other Knights on patrol, and maybe even assist them in crimes etc. As it stands it kinda feels like whilst you're on patrol the other knights are sat doing nothing :')

This game is fun. I am still playing it. 5:12 don't Dis the Slingshot. it's not a toy it can be a very deadly weapon and you can use a variety of different ammo types.

Blame Ubisoft for why rpg mechanics being demonized after they turned damn near all their IPs into openworld Rpgs including games that were never openworld rpgs(Ghost recon)

With most open world games the low fps is usually a result of the game rendering details that it shouldn't. Like you'll be in one corner of the city and the game will render the completly opposite corner causing framedrops.

Wow. It's so hard to find positive reviews of this game. :) Tho it certainly has it's flaws, it's just as you said it, fun. I only played Nightwing, Red Hood and Batgirl, but I love Nightwing's combat. It's acrobatic, it's flashy, and fast if I use the speed buff. The only ability of Nightwing I don't like is the Nest. It forces a very mobile character to small area. Also I love that they put a lots of love into combat animations, like Nightwing's selfie takedown is hilarious. XD I don't think they did Jason dirty. He has a really compelling personal story, and I think his conversations with the other members of the batfam are the best. His voice actor is very good too. The only thing they messed up about his design is his hair. Because that hairstyle is horrendous. ;P

Here's the thing tho... if you loved the game, that's great... nobody can take that away from you cause it's you who decides what you love and what you don't... but as someone who's on the fence... the main problem is, why should i give 60€ of my money when there's so many other games out there that do the same and sometimes better... From what I can see it, sadly, looks like a game that most people should pick up in a year or 2, when there's a "complete edition" with a lot of patches, dlcs and a reduced price... cause it seems there was a mixup with the devs and the publishers... and something like that should not be rewarded with money... but... that's just imho :)

The speech about the end about how the game treats the rest of the Bat-Family touched me. This is what I was looking forward to when this game released, and this is why I want to get this game (after it goes on sale and gets some bug fixes): the focus on the Bat-Family. This game did what the Arkham games never did: they took Dick, Jason, Tim, and Barbara out of Batman's shadow and treated them as their own characters, with some genuine respect. And thank you for the speech about enjoying bad games, because that's very true. We all have played bad games and still had fun with them--I know I've got games in my Steam favorites that are bad! This game has a lot of flaws and should have been delayed a little longer for polishing and maybe a couple rewrites, but not every game needs to be a AAA title to be fun!

I played Gotham Knights at launch and even though I had my fair share of issues with it,I really enjoyed the combat and it's what kept me going throughout,especially playing as Batgirl. Currently though I am playing Arkham Knight for the first time,having played the previous Arkham games long ago,and I have to be honest....I prefer Gotham Knights combat much more. Like I know I am in the extreme minority here,but Arkham combat to me is just soo fast paced that I barely get to see all the cool animations and finishers Batman does. And when I do get to see some of them,they feel really generic and there's not even that much difference especially between characters like Batman,Nightwing and Batgirl. Moreover I find the combat to be really easy aswell,which I also understand as all the Arkham games are about pretending to be Batman and executing the gameplay in the most coolest and slickest way....but I feel like Gotham Knights gave me more of a challenge,overcoming which was much more satisfying.

The sad thing is. This game would be either a solid 9/10 or a masterpiece had they just focused on two characters (Dick and Jason) as opposed to 4. I would argue that the focus on 4 characters was too much for the devs, the narrative and the game to handle all at once and dulled the thematic impact this game was going for. Thus if you told a more personal story that was down to two characters this game would be remembered as a hallmark achievement in gaming but WB Montreal really bit off more than they can chew with 4 characters. I hope they get a second chance though or maybe release continuous DLC content that will show profit. You don’t have to read this I really feel WB Montreal should’ve been given the keys and tools to work with everything that was built with Arkham knight and rocksteady should’ve been requested to start from scratch. Where then we have WB taking the reins of everything after Arkham knight being the little brother of rocksteady. Then have rocksteady start a completely new universe with the suicide squad game. Things would’ve worked out much better had this been the case. As much as I am looking forward to the suicide squad game the direction feels uninspired and forced *within the Arkhamverse* specifically.

I appreciate this review more than some of the others that I have seen lately. You are honest about the game's faults but you also highlight the parts of the game that was done well.(They went ham on the customization 4 sure) I have to agree with you on the Nightwing combat. After seeing his gameplay in the trailers, I was immediately disappointed in the devs combat decisions and I believe if I ever do pick up this game I would gravitate more towards Batgirl's as a main. I believe this game falls short in many areas and I wanted it to do so well. So that being said, I Will eventually pick up the game and go through the same Rolller-coaster of emotions that I am sure you experienced. This was a great, insightful review. Keep it up.

Its a good game and its annoying seeing Arkham shills raging on it. The tutorial should have been more thorough for the new players. There is some Arkham DNA under the hood if you're good with batgirl or nightwing its not magnetic like Arkham but you can bounce around once you know how the animation works.

Honestly as soon as it came out I read and saw all the negative reviews and comments and it scared me off. It went on sale for $35 so I picked it up and so far I'm about half way through and I don't hate it. It's definitely not the best Batman game but it is fun. There really has not been a ton of coop superhero games so it's nice to see one and it's definitely a huge reason to get this game. I don't like traversal or the rpg gear elements but the story is pretty good so far, graphics are underrated, and combat while not as fluid as Arkham games is not as bad as avengers,in fact I would say it's alot better and less spammy. I did have some fps issues and giant slow down to the point where I could not see what was going on and it was really bad but overall it performed well.i would say if you are a fan of these characters and can grab this on a sale you won't be disappointed but maybe I'm just more forgiving than some people.

First I loved the vid very good job. Secondly I enjoyed the game I just wish the stories that each character had were better Red Hood and batgirls were pretty good but Robins and Nightwings were kinda meh..The other thing I noticed is when playing alone Nightwings skills don't really help. I also was sad because Tim Drake is one of my favorite characters and it felt like he kinda got a back seat and was kinda just whiny. All and all I agree that the game isn't really that bad and if the game is on sale its definitely worth playing. Even on console which is what I played it on.

Thank you!! I fully agree about the main stories of each character. I went back and watch the others and yeah they were a bit slow. And Tim drake is my fav robin so it was def tough seeing him reduced to what he was.

100%. People aren't letting themselves enjoy the game and they don't realize it. You can't compare a new game to a series that is the gold standard of superhero games. I even think the Arkham series is way better than the Spider-Man games. I went into this game knowing exactly what I was getting or not getting I should say. I knew I WAS NOT GETTING AN ARKHAM GAME. I played this game with that knowledge and I loved it and am still playing it. The same will happen with the suicide squad game. You heard it here first. Then they're going to say "it's made by rocksteady and it isn't even better than Arkham knight". Just watch

It's a decent game I would say. It's not bad as some make it to be. Better than that new Marvel game. I just don't want puzzles like how the arkham games had. I don't like headbreakers. I use Batgirl I like her play style. What I would like for them is to add DLC playable characters such as Harley Quinn or Catwoman.

maybe it's just me but I didn't like the very 1st arkham game as the complaints about it being buggy turned me away and thus I never played the other 2 that came out, without that experience, I actually like playing Gotham knights, I don't get all the hate it gets, the 30fps doesn't bother me, the stutter that happens is unfortunate but I've seen worse, I just don't get the vitriol...

even how people compare the fighting to other games, I liked the pace of the fight in Spiderman but I felt it was WAY too easy, I never had to stop and think about any one action I was taking, with Gotham knights I have to be cognizant of everything going on around me and plan my next move accordingly, I never thought this hard playing Spiderman while fighting, it's not as crisp or smooth and you can get walloped during those long animations which, to me, forces you to make better decisions
