Something else I wanted to share… I made a bunch of holiday potpourri kits and gave them as gifts this week. I took the little treat bags that you can buy at the dollar store and I put an orange, 1/2 a cup of fresh cranberries, two cinnamon sticks, and a tablespoon of whole cloves in each one and tied them up with a ribbon. I included the instructions to slice the orange, and then dump everything into a cooking or potpourri pot with enough water to cover the ingredients. I suggested adding a few sprigs of pine, or a teaspoon of vanilla, and allowing to simmer on the kitchen or wood stove. I love the smell of these at Christmas.

I do miss dearly the meat processing that use to go on here. We didn’t process pork but instead beef. Andy mentioned leaving the meat out to chill. That’s crucial for the process and here in north east Texas we just really cannot depend on it getting cold enough and staying cold. Also my dad is no longer with us. He was the best meat processor I’ve ever seen. Only electric tools we had was the grinder. Every thing else by hand. Definitely a process EVERYONE HAD TO PARTICIPATE IN !!!

When we put up new high tinsel fence we always put the wire on first and get it just tight enough that it isn't laying on the ground and use it to figure out where the T-post goes. keeps from having to pull a string and also helps to make sure the T-post is straight love the videos!!

🙏🏻This world needs more people like you all. Loved this video….especially little Maggie helping her Daddy and walking the horses. She must get her love for animals from her Momma. I learned what parts of the pig 🐖 pork chops were from. I had no idea 🤷♂️. Mama loved tenderloin and her favorite meats were pork chops (meat loaf). I guess that makes sense now that I heard and saw Andy demonstrating and slicing the chops. Missed seeing the Little Man 👨 on this one. I wish I had the means to send y’all gifts 🎁 but what I can give you are my prayers, love and respect. Jesus is the reason for the Season. I read somewhere that this one family always made a Birthday cake for Jesus every Christmas. 🙏🏻♥️

Fun video. Enjoyed it very much! Meagan I make fudge very similar to the recipe you just used. But I always pour it in an 8 x 8 or 9 x9 square. But I liked the idea of thinner in a 9 x 13.
@TrueGritAppalachianWays10 сағат бұрын
It was very thin, but it was really good, I think next time I will make 2 batches to pour in the 9x13 instead of spreading just one so thin I also threw in a scoop of peanut butter on a second batch I made (off camera) and poured it in a little smaller cookie sheet, it was about an inch thick and delicious!

That little Maggie is cute as a button with her cowgirl hat on and so sweet out there walking her horse!❤ Megan next time I make sausage balls I'm going to remember to add a block of cream cheese! I love to make up a batch of sausage balls this time of year and freeze them. Then I can just take out a few at a time for my son and I to have for breakfast or just to snack on. Your sausage and ham biscuits will be so good too. Everyone helping out with the hog meat will enjoy your good food!!!!! P.S. Those sure are delicious looking chops, Andy!!!!🥩

@TrueGritAppalachianWays I just lay them on a baking sheet lined with tin foil or wax paper, then put in freezer until frozen. Once frozen, I put them all in a ziploc freezer bag and pop in the freezer! Comes in handy when you just want a few at a time!
