Opening up my Tesla to change inner tube due to a flat, also my original Tesla tire had 7000km on it and was worn out so I changed that too!
Followed some tutorials from youtube, was not that difficult after all, would not like to do it again tho, since you compromise the wheel everytime you do it (In my oppinion)

Thanks for video. I will use this as a tutorial "when" I get flat tire on my Tesla V2. I tried changing my MCM5 2 years ago, but once I got to the white compound step that I had to remove to take off the cable, I gave up and sold it instead :P Next time I will also try to do it myself.

I've watched other Tesla tire replacement vids & UR the only I remember who labels the wires before taking them apart. Moreover, lubricating the tire b4 removing & installing (to me) demonstrates either experience doing the same thing w/ bicycle tires or UR very intuitive. I don't remember if U checked if the tire needed to be installed according to the direction of the tread but I'm sure U did. U also did all this w/o breaking a nail !! Very impressive lol ! Also showed patience when a little frustrated by "backing off" for a time. Not many people have that within them. Anyway, I'm looking forward to buying my 1st EUC & am convinced it will a Tesla. Thanks to you and others I've watched on KZbin. U are all an inspiration !! And NOT because of UR gender but the skill all of U that I've watched. I'm unsure about what U mean about compromising the EUC. The only possible damage I can think of is when U pulled apart some of the wire connections, U pulled on the wire itself not the connector. I apologize, it's a pet peeve of mine. I've admonished friends & family when ever I observe them pulling on the cord to disconnect it from the wall socket instead of gripping the plug. I've had to repair my share of plug connectors because of this action. Again GREAT JOB Petra ! Safe travels and be safe !!

I have picked up some things here and there that is good to know. I remember such things instead of things that is more important at that time 😅 The Tesla is a great starter wheel! Hope you will enjoy. And thank you for all the kinds words. And vy compromising I mean if you leave a wheel untouched there is not much you can do to damage it other than riding it. If you mess around with the inside you might damage something, break a cable, the motherboard, anything. But also its hard to assemble it back as original and then it can be more sensitive to water... hope you understand what i mean 😊 Come back and tell me when you get your first wheel!

@@crystalrider don't use electric drill ... the threads are partly pressed into the plastic or aluminum and a sensitive "screwdriver" could save you from a bigger mess ... especially at the pedal hangers. Once the female thread comes out together with the screw you are ... screwed :-) And if there is just a flat with a puncture in the tube there are tubes which are straight ... no circles, so you can change the tube without disassembling the weheel or unmounting tyre.

Probably a lot of unnecessary disassembly just for a tire change but this is a really good tear down! For the tire change, you can manage by removing only the handle side of the shell. In doing it that way, you only need to disconnect and remove the battery on the handle side, no need to disconnect the motor, or remove the ring lights.
@crystalrider
@crystalrider 4 жыл бұрын
I watched other videos when taking mike apart, I think I dont need to remove any battery actually. If I just thought instead I would probably just have figured it out myself. 😅 But its a scary thing, you don't want anything to go wrong or the wheel will break

Nice that you found a way to make it easy for you. 😊 I filled my tube with puncture repair spray and it did not help so I did not want to patch up that tube anyway. But this morning coincidentally a new video was posted by a guy with a lot of experience who literally just unboxed a Tesla v2 and the first thing he did was slime it and he went into detail about how he did it and how much you used. So that gave me the confidence to slime it and he had the same slime that I had as there are different variations of it and I didn't have the proper tools so I use the core remover built into the cap of the slime, LOL. I thought I screwed it up, but it's working fine and now I don't have to worry so much about popping the tire. The guy that made the video said that he owns a lot of wheels and sliming is the first thing he does when he unboxes has any of them. Do you think you're going to do that to the Nikola?
