Gran Turismo: Cars Never Seen Again | PS2 Edition Vol #2

Yay, I finally finished it! Here's Volume 2 of Gran Turismo's forgotten cars on the PS2, where I pick out a few of these things to talk about. I hope you enjoy this one as this was honestly a bit tougher than usual to make. Especially when I've been more busy in real life than usual.
Notes:
- I hate moving! That's part of why this took so long.
- I also have been a bit sick lately, allergies have been rampant where I work and affected me heavily.
- Alright in seriousness, I procrastinated a bit on this video because I was nervous when it came to talking about the F094/S. I hope I approached it at least okay here.
- Another car tough to talk about was the Gillet Vertigo, mainly because finding race results of the car was a pain. I'm not even sure if the results I found were correct.

There should have been a second Nike VGT car. In GT6's Vision Gran Turismo section, there was an area reserved for Nike (and a separate area for Air Jordan).

I believe the fact that Gran Turismo is now sponsored by Puma makes it a bit difficult for the Nike One 2022 to return....

That reminds me, one of GTPlanet's admins (Famine) mentioned a work around to that. Just rebrand the car as Phil Frank's Nike One 2022. You could say that "Nike" is the Greek goddess of victory.

What is interesting is that FPV still has some entries in the game files in Gran Turismo 5 and reward tickets are still present even though they aren't in the game. Using the master mod or garage editor its possible to get reward tickets however if you select the reward tickets you get a black screen for one second and it kicks you back to the GT Home screen.

Ah, now that's something I didn't know. Reward tickets that hand out the cars. It's still strange that they never were licensed. Not even as just part of Ford (AU).

In Gran Turismo 3, the only BMW available was the 328ci, which never made an appearance in a later GT game. Also of note from GT3, the Acura RSX, Aston Martin Vanquish, and Nissan Z are all concept versions that were later replaced with the production versions from GT4 onwards.

My recommendation: Watch the Senna Top Gear Tribute and the Senna Documentary. Also thank you for including Ratzenberger, he's from Austria like me and is still a little national hero like Niki Lauda. Really appreciated

Thanks for the recommendation, I did watch a bit of the Senna TG Tribute when finishing my editing and after. I will watch the Senna Documentary at some point. and no problem, I figured that mentioning Ratzenberger was important in explaining how tragic that Grand Prix was if not just for how much he would mean to someone. 2 drivers dead within 1 day between each other, one of F1's truly sad parts in history. With that said, I like to imagine them now racing each other on a race track in the sky.

As a reminder, remember to always read the video description folks for addition info such as where I gather information on the cars from. Also, I saw a comment on here earlier from someone (not going to name who for privacy reasons) try to correct me on the Gillet Vertigo never racing against GT spec race cars. So, I dunno why I can't see the comment anymore (could be KZbin's doing? If so, I don't know why on the count it wasn't offensive). Regardless of the reason, I still want to address it just in case someone else might have a similar idea when watching this video. Whatever information you may know about the car, all I know is that I saw it listed as an entry in multiple events in the Belcar championship on the racingsports cars website that I linked in the description. and to remind everyone: I'm just talking about the Belcar Championship, NOT the FIA GT Championship at the time. With that said, it was entered in those races and I even found a bit of video evidence of it in the Zolder 24hr race back in 2000: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKvHgJudlLOap5o However, with all of that said; I will apologize for making one mistake in the video. When looking at the Belcar Championship results. I made a mistake when it came to looking at the racing classes and just realized that it was racing in the GTB category, not the GTA category that the Porsches and Lamborghinis were racing in. So yeah, I am once again sorry about that; I was wrong in listing it as a GT2 car when it clearly wasn't. It was still in the championship, just not in the class.

The FPV cars did exist at one point in GT5's development, but they were dropped out due to the mentioned licensing, in the cutting room floor there's their leftover thumbnail preview graphics

The FTO LM can also be obtained in GT4. Here it is known as the FTO Super Touring Car, just like the Impreza, RX-7 and the Altezza variants. The S2000 kept its LM monocre. The Gillet Vertigo also makes an appearance in GT4, but as the newer 2004 version with double the horsepower from the first iteration seen in GT3

The Motor Carriage is slower than the Lunar Rover. If you use the GT6 Spec II mod and take the rover on a downhill track, it can get to 16 mph on its own and hit over 100 in neutral going downhill due to its low weight.

F688/s is the mclaren mp4/4 and finally made its return as the mclaren in gt7, f094/s is based on the version senna got killed in during the 1994 San Marino gp and the f094/h is the williams fw16 after imola

I would just like to point out that, on account of him being German, Dr. Benz's name is spelt with a K, not a C, though both are considered correct. I stick with the K because he's German. A German man named Carl just doesn't sound right, even though it's right. Also: the Nike 2022 _can_ hit 230mph if the driver is wearing a special suit... Which isn't modeled in game.

I was actually going to use a K, but I saw Wikipedia along with articles the paragraphs the page sourced from saying Carl. So, I assumed that was the correct way to spell it. That was in Gran Turismo 5 & 6. In GT5, it's hard to spot because you have to buy it in the Used Car Dealership, where PD for some reason crammed 80% of their car list in. But in GT6, you can find it easily in the Alfa Romeo dealership and even pick your color.

@@viniaghy5111 Oh, the 156 rm. Yes, I can do a video on it. But I should tell you that it's not an official Touring Car in that game, all rms are really just a racing skin applied to a road car (with an extra weight reduction kit and aero), they can't perform officially like the car they're based on. I.e. The Ford Taurus rm is based on the NASCAR Cup Car, but it won't have the correct hp, engine, nor drivetrain.
