Nice, compact rooftop tent setup, but seriously, what would you do with 40 mph winds (quite common in the SW during the spring) ?
@RevereOverland Жыл бұрын
I’ve had it up in a storm with heavy rain and 40mph gusts and it handled it just fine other than the zippers needing covering to stop them rattling.
@thomaslewis1268 Жыл бұрын
I've survived 50 mph winds in a Gazelle T4, but given the Habitat's exposed position, I'm surprised it could handle such forces. I guess being anchored to the truck helps more than I anticipated.

Rob, I have been following along with you for a while now. Epic videos! After watching your comprehensive footage, in Idaho, I am still perplexed. You are still rolling in your Toyota, but you were wheeling in your wife's Rubicon. Having watched you in both...What do you think and what do you prefer? Does the Rubicon flex better than the Toyota or are you still a fan of the Toyota? For what it is worth, I listened to your wife's jeep groan while wheeling in Idaho. But how did it do in comparison to your friend's Toyotas? In transparency...I own a Jeep Rubicon Extreme Recon 392. However, I am always looking to the folks who have been there and done that to render the final decision. What say yee my mate? Cheers, Gary
@RevereOverland Жыл бұрын
They're two very different machines that have completely different strengths and weaknesses. The Jeep is incredible on difficult and technical obstacles, and the Toyota can't compare. The Tundra is far better for long distance trips on bumpy and rough roads. I'd also rather tow the Jeep across the country behind the Tundra than I would drive the Jeep itself! For a trip like this, the Idaho BDR, or the Pacific Crest Overland Route I'd take the Tundra any day. For something like the technical trails we recently did in Kentucky I doubt the Tundra would have made it.
@av8orAH64 Жыл бұрын
@@RevereOverland Thanks. I completely understand your point of view. I must say the Jeep does wander around on the road and is also tight and bumpy inside the cabin. I guess it really comes down to personal preference as to which features dominate your decision. You have provided epic videos with your setup and for the record, I am not a died-in-the-wool Jeep fan. I just wanted a Hemi engine in an off-road rig...I never really grew up. I like the sound and the lifted set-up. I so appreciate your beautiful videos. I am a pilot and a drone operator so I really appreciate the bird's eye view that you provide in your videos.
