Basically, it was noted, that they don't want to mix their bloodline with children of too high ranking families, since it will later kinda lead to their rank increase as well. And their goal is to remain aristocrats, but minor ones (high standing will mean more attention to family, which is bad for assasin's profession)

It doesn't matter if you are 7 or 107 years old. As long as you have a mother, you are still a child. Parents always want to see and be around little children/grandchildren as they grow old. They usually see it as a "second chance" at parenthood (aka, to "fix" whatever mistakes they made with their own children), but without the whole "baby package".

I always thought that is what siblings were for. The screw up the first one, then if the second one is a different gender they screw that one up a bit less, after that the next one has the benefits of all the experience the parents made on the first children. I am of course an eldest child. For that matter raising children is best done when a person is emotionally older. By the time my youngest sister came around, my parents had somewhat outgrown the raging and screaming. My father had obtained a decent job, and my mother had finally found an effective combination of mental medication. It wasn't so much that my youngest sister was spoiled, she just received far less emotional stress.

Well considering how crazy the mother is, I can presume the father is the stable parent in the family so he probably doesn't want to lose lughs trust. Plus she'll just want to arrange for them to get married as soon as possible. And even though lugh loves her, we don't know if dia loves him too. We get implied hints she does but nothing is confirmed yet so lugh probably doesn't want anyone else to know yet. Plus he knows part of the reason those girls help him on his assassination missions is because they're infatuated with him so if he were to make his future plans known then they could either turn on him or be less inclined to help him which could ruin his chances at taking out the hero as well later on.
