Speaking of bounties Brooks bounty should be much higher. His bounty was 33 million when he joined the Strawhats BUT he had that bounty 50 years ago. We saw how Dory and Brogys bounty got adjusted to inflation. So if you adjusted 33 million by 50 years of inflation it comes out to about $211 million and if you add the $50 million the starwhats got in Dressrosa and then the $300 million after Wano it means Brooks Bounty would be around $561 million now.

Theory about Sabo and his Devil fruit: Oda said "he can recall his memory now" Ofc, it refers to his memory loss. But what if you, as the new host of a devil fruit, are also able to see (some) memory of the previous user. Or you have the chance to enable this ability when you have trained/prepared yourself before eating the fruit. This would explain how Sabo was able to use the Devil fruit right away without seeing it once.

I love Oda's interpretation of real world history inspiring characters and events in One Piece, the Rocky Port incident for instance: flying friendly colors under malicious pretenses was a common practice among pirates in the late 1700's into the early 19th century as it was a symptom of the transitioning of Privateering to Piracy. It's a great attention to detail.

The world feels more real and lived in to me when you see the effects the outside world can have on the story while having to speculate a bit having not seen it yourself like it often is in the real world

Its a really unfortunate thing that alot of important side stories may never see the light of day cause of how expansive the one piece world has become. Even b4 rocky port, things like fisher tigers escape from mariejois and then him single handedly breaking out many of the slaves is a feat that isnt talked abt enough. The only solace is that if ace's voyage b4 becoming one of whitebeards sons can be adapted as a canonical sidr story, so can rocky port and other gr8 stories that the main plot just doesn't have time to expound upon. Its really amazing how in our world, where info is so well maintained, there exists a story with such a strong meta narrative element, that an exploration into any of these stories can lead to some gr8 work, it just speaks to the nature of one piece, this story is gonna go down as one of the greatest works in our century for aure

Van Auger, Sabo, Yasopp, Zoro, Dragon, Garp, Luffy and Roger all come from the East Blue and they're all at least on Green Bull's level. Sure, the Straw Hats were lucky not to have stumbled upon any Admiral Level character other than Mihawk, but Green Bull probably wasn't as strong more than 2 years ago, just like the Straw Hats.

I think the cross guild bounties are more reasonable than you suggest for lower level marines, remember mango and full-body willingly hold a lower rank than their power could get them because the want to work for Hina. Others of their rank and lower are certainly weak enough for the bonties to be worth it.

Regarding Sabo and the Mera Mera no Mi, I think Oda has already given that one away. Logia users tend to be over confident in their ability to use their logia power rather than cultivating proper fighting spirit, meanwhile Sabo has been training significantly to increase his physical prowess. During Dressrosa Sabo seemed mostly be be using the Mera Mera no Mi to enhance his normal physical moves, only occasionally doing big flashy moves that depend mostly on the fruit power. tl;dr - Sabo wasn't instantly great at using the power, he just was smart about using it to enhance his normal pipe and dragon claw based moveset.

When it comes to Sabo and the Mera Mera No Mi I would say that someone who has trained almost every day of their life to the point where at his age he is second in command of the Revolutionary Army and won the contest to obtain the fruit. It wouldn't take a lot of specific training to be good at using it. We are not talking about the Gumu Gumu No Mi which took a lot of time to figure out what it could do. Sabo is literally fire and the name specifics were probably common knowledge among those who collect information like the RA.

I have a theory. Shanks is protecting Luffy (stopping Greenbull on Wano) b/c of the DF and because he figured out that the only way to utilize a weapon or some thing in Laughtel requires will only activate if it hears Nika/JoyBoy & now Luffy drums of liberation. The same way that Emet and Zunisha awakened. So no matter what and whether Blackbeard knows that or not Shanks needs Luffy to make it there regardless of his intentions.

Personally sabo growth with mera mera no kinda justifiable because he already super strong (revolutionary army commander only with haki) and he's master of ryusoken style If kaku and Kalifa can master their fruit within hour i don't se why sabo can't

am I the first to notice that the theme of the Strawhat Yanko Fleet is freedom? Every member of the crew and the entirety of the Grand Fleet were personally given freedom in some way by Luffy, the Warrior of Liberation. Luffy frees Zoro and Jinbe from captivity, Nami from Arlong, Sanji from both Krieg and the freedom to pursue his dream, Usopp from Syrup Village, Chopper and Nico Robin from lonliness, Franky from testicular torture, and Brooke from the Shadows. The Grandfleet were nearly all turned to toys or trapped in the birdcage and Yamato/Wano was trapped by Kaido.

Yea man luffy do be liberating. Definitely not the first to get it, but it’s always nice seeing people actually understand the theme of a story and not just whatever they think it is. Understanding the author and their intentions can be quite the beautiful thing.
