One of the things I like about this channel is the authenticity. At the 6 minute mark there are sandals, crocs, using a level to consolidate the mud, a truck bed trailer, and a broken shovel for mixing. Not a bunch of staged, faked, or otherwise pretentious content. Just working to get stuff done.

I would like to save you some trouble later. Any level is a persicion instrument even inexpensive ones. However if the rails are not true because you rammed it into rocks or concrete it won't read true or be a straight edge. Do yourself a favor and punch out the vials and use it for a straight edge. And get yourself a new one. You and your wife are doing a good job don't cause yourself a problem by trusting you shouldn't. And next time remember they are fragile. Hope you enjoy your first BBQ on there soon.
@charlene54612 жыл бұрын
@@johnson8950 Good morning, my brother and I framed houses for 12 years, (installed vinyl siding, vinyl windows, built decks) and that was something he was very particular about. He would not lean one against the wall and when I did and it fell, I had to replace it. He said they were very fragile and should not be banged around. I gasped when I saw Sam using it for a tamp! My brother would have kicked my behind! I figured since that was decades ago and that now they make them better. But I still treat mine with special care. Never leaning or setting it on anything where it may fall just because that was the way he trained me on the job.

Love the videos. We've been watching for a long time now. Just bought just over 2 acres and about do clear it to build phase 1 of a barndominium. Due to us having at least 20-25 years on y'all, and a few health issues we, we can't do as much 'hands on' work anymore. We enjoy your willingness to put in the time/effort. I have to say, as one who has built decks, boat docks & piers for years, that is the most usual foundation for a deck I've ever seen. But, hey, if it works, (which it should) that's all that matters. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the finished product. Y'all won't know what to do once you get to that point!

I need to redo my back deck but there’s no way I can handle an auger. I would be spinning around on top like a kid on a sit and spin. I need someone I can pay to ride it for me lol. Im so loving watching each thing get done. I will be celebrating when the juice gets turned on and you move back in. This turned out so beautiful. Dry set, do you mean adding the water to the cement in the hole? If so it does as long as you have the correct ratios. Dry cement will suck moisture from the dirt around it. But old school lovers resistant to change will always argue.
