AWESOME!!!! I love your greenhouse!!! Your husband reminds me of mine. So caring and hardworking! I appreciated your thoughts on finding in your life what gives you peace and enjoyment. Those moments when you take a deep breath, exhale and can feel yourself physically and mentally relax. I hope to be able to build our greenhouse next year. There are a bunch of neat old windows in our cabin and we are pulling them out and saving them to use in the future greenhouse build. Would love to see videos of old junk around your place. LOL. Thanks for sharing! ;)-Dede

Oh my gosh😂 this video was an older one. But, I can just see the joy and happiness in y'alls eyes. It's crazy how time flies, and if that's the same green house where you harvested all your onions "that's purple now😅" then he did an amazing job. And look at you today. Because it is your calmness, peace and joy. I just love that. 😊 you guys haven't aged a bit from 6 years ago/this video.

we used the openers from lee valley to open our vents...they are automatic , so as it warms up they open and at night they close...they have been working fantastically for 9 years..pretty basic concept either bi-metal or an oil in a cylinder, not sure...they are a little expensive, but seriously for nine years and no problems and totally automatic...well done dan...i am getting another greenhouse for fall and spring plantings going in the next year or so...thanks for the inspiration

I think once that little boy took his end of the tape measure to the post and you held the other end and marked out where the frame was going , from then on you knew it wasn't going to be small greenhouse. Cost will fade after all the goodies that come out of it .. So you have to walk around the garden to get to the green house?? You both did a great job.. Gardening is peaceful.

I absolutely love your greenhouse. It is a huge dream of mine, to have my own greenhouse. My husband says let's just buy a kit, but when I look at the prices, it makes me a little ill to see how expensive they are. Do you have a video or do you have it written somewhere, what exact materials you used? Your greenhouse is big and beautiful and I think the cost of $1900 is so cheap for such a nice greenhouse. My husband is very handy like yours, so I know he could do it. So glad I stumbled upon your channel.

@@LittleMountainRanch thank you so much! I really think my husband would build it for me if we knew which materials were the best, and cost effective. I have found so many greenhouse kits and for the good ones they are really expensive. My Dad built one for my mom using all old windows. It's really cool and antique looking, matches their house, wood and rock home. But we live in a small town so we have to go with a different style. Any information you can send my way, would be greatly appreciated. I showed my husband your video and I really think I am getting him talked into this. I am an avid gardener and it's my dream to have a greenhouse.

Very sweet video, it amused me a lot :D Well, one recommendation if you have not bumped into that topic yet...with this hight of the greenhouse , it worth considering to do a vertical garden :) in that way you can increase your yeald per square meter. (You can make it easily using PVC tubes. That tool that Dan holds in his hand at the end part and he counts the distance with, looks like something that can be used to push tiny wholes in the soil and sow seeds in, so the seeds are equally distanced from each other...just an idea :D
@LittleMountainRanch
@LittleMountainRanch 6 жыл бұрын
That video makes me smile, too.😊 I do pretty tight planting in there, prune my tomatoes pretty hard and grow them up on twine - I also tried cukes in there this year trellised, so we’ll see if that works.
@deani0302
@deani0302 6 жыл бұрын
I am sure they will grow like crazy :D I saw your video about thinking to give up pigs, well just another idea to pass your time with kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHPWoYVopZWMj68 and though it is a bit cheaper than raising pigs, but I must say it is NOT easy to keep a fish alive XD.The trick with aquaponics that you cannot use anything, so you need to keep an eye on insects :S, because you cannot use pesticides. In the video you can see some of those vertical tubes in the back ground. All right, I guess I stop throwing my brainstorm on you :D Good luck with the summer period, I am sure you will be snowed with work around the ranch this time of the year. And also best of luck with your channel, you're doing it great :)

Hey Guys! This greenhouse looks great I have a youth organization and we want to build one and this is the design we want to go with. So is tough Tex the name of the panels you used? do you remember the spacing on the studs and the size of the panels?
@LittleMountainRanch

Yes. 16 inch standard framing. I’m not sure the size of the panels, but they are just standard as far as I remember. Dan says it make sure to use the foam strips.

Thank for your reply I’m looking forward to building this ! I’m assuming the foam strips will be offered with the panels ,and they go on the studs and you screw the panels to the strips as well as the studs to keep everything even also for the purpose of insulation? Sorry for all questions I’m just really trying to count the cost before going into this we are a small nonprofit

just a small tip, I would have painted all the lumber first then once it was up tuch up any marks, lo easier then the honey climbing all over, then again my cheating ex wife once we were married wanted nothing to do with any of the animals or eggs except to give hundreds away to her family an friends after I did all the work witch included washing, she wanted to move to town when I had told her when she asked to get married in 1998 that don't ever ask to move from here if we do get married

Little Mountain Ranch thanks for the reply! We are in upstate SC and are possibly looking to build a glass greenhouse with geothermal heating.
