Thanks a lot guys, now my Doctor thinks I’m a Moron again and I was just a genius yesterday! The Doc spent 25 minutes trying to tell us if we ate a balanced diet and met are total caloric goals for the day that we didn’t need to worry about the macros... and some of you still screwed it up 🤦🏻‍♂️

To summarize (what I got out of this rant): Macros actually kind of do matter. But they shouldn't be what you focus on. Just eat a diverse diet, watch your calories, and your macros will be just fine.

I mean, I agree with him entirely, but as a teacher and coach, he should probably take a bit more responsibility for people misinterpreting his intentions and look at if they are actually all dumb, or if he could have been clearer with his words.

no I don't think this shows you conceptually understand it. The point is that it doesn't matter whether it's 60% protein vs x% carbs, 55% fat and 20% carbs, etc. "They do matter but it shouldn't be what you focus on" that could mean you're saying "well yea, of course it's best to get exactly 65.423% protein, and 22.54385% fat, and the rest carbs but you should instead be focusing on training so don't worry if you're not getting the exact ideal macro count even though it does exist" The point is that it doesn't exist, as long as you're not deficient. Which is kind of obvious.

i have been trying to lose weight since i was 14 and i could never find that perfect diet and now im 21 and since i followed doctor gregs delicious diet, i have lost 50 pounds and seeing my abs for the first time ever. his diet is filling, low calorie and honestly just feels like damn cheat meals.

I’m so glad you shared these two videos about macros!! I was literally killing myself counting. Watching your videos has given me so much freedom back and I don’t feel like I’m driving myself insane counting macros everyday and going crazy about going 5 or 10 over or under.

It's definitely simple to know that you need to eat less. As someone who has lost almost 50lbs over the last year and a half the most important thing was changing how I thought of food, Greg's taught me a lot you can have delicious filling food just use better ingredients. Absolutely love the egg-white french toast have it basically every morning now and look forward to it. I don't feel like I'm dieting and I'm still losing weight going to the gym very casually at 2-3 times a week. So thank you Greg!

That is awesome and i mean that , i watch Gregs vids more for a kick in the butt to keep me on my diet , Im in a worst boat than you , Working out was never my problem it was the food i ate and how much and thinking i was burning off a lot of calories with the weight i was throwing around ( and not doing much cardio ) , Then i tore something in my groin doing fly's with a weight that was not even what i would consider heavy , Just doing a warm up set but i could not get comfortable on the incline so i was trying to position myself and , well it felt like tearing a piece of paper ( that was a sick feeling ) , Packed on a ton of weight because i did not change my eating habit went past the point of being out of control , It took my gallbladder shutting down to give me my wake up call , Thought i was having a heart attack But calories in and calories out is all you need to know , i used an online calculator to find out how many calories a day my body needed to maintain the weight i was at and make sure to put my self in a deficit from that number , well lost 13 pants sizes in 3 months , So far so good watching Greg's video's keeps me in the mindset i need to be in each day to stick to it

@@alred9699 I'm talking about the fact that prior to having 10k subs your vid would not show up that fast in Google search then post 10k you're suddenly getting 30-40k new subs a month and showing up almost immediately in Google search. Until not so long ago Greg's channel hadn't even broken the 10k sub point. Good on him he deserves it but it was post 10k where everything started to happen!

Greg, I think it'd be a cool video idea to talk about your early days of power lifting and how your diet and training differ when you're training for strength versus when you're training for bodybuilding. I am sorry sir but this is not possible, scientifically is proven an average human burns around 50 cals from laughing 10 -15 mins.The video being 25 minutes and considering your size ( i dont call you fat) theoretically you lost around 100 cals max .

Drewbie Chillington I was a trainer, super fun job and very rewarding. Got super fat after I stopped through. When you work at the gym you workout twice a day everyday- when you stop being there all the time and get a desk job your f***** cos your used to eating all the time and not gaining weight

Most IT workers I know are actually skinny. They don't eat a lot because they don't have time to go get some food. And then there are also a few who are eating healthy and workout to compensate for sitting the whole day behind a computer.

I work in IT and im lucky enough to just eat at my desk and have kitchen close by, so I meal prep on weekend and just bring food with me and drop it in the microwave :)
