Good job Mick. Love Gretsch and hope Fender ramps up more production in the US! That was well done with Duane Eddy! Many interviewers either wouldn't have known him or would've let the opportunity slip by to say hello to a legend (without pestering) : )

I wish Gretsch would do a video demoing their new Malcolm Young tribute guitar or "salute" guitar as they are calling it... I mean it took them 9 years to design and build it and all they are giving us is a couple of pictures and a few vague specs on it!! Andertons, surely you could give them a shout and give em a nudge to get a demo video out for us Malcolm Young fans! :(

I would be grateful if someone could inform me why some of the bigsby bridge systems use the "tension bar" while others don't? From my research I have done, it is a general consensus that the "break angle" is not beneficial to the quality of tone or tuning of the guitar. Thanks!
@adamstepien48878 жыл бұрын
Tayler L've got Electromatic Double Jet with Bigsby the tension bar and when i run over strings string tension bar so didnt touch it at all, the attack of guitar change, in my opinion it is more a difference than a feel and tone maybe it wasnt sustain that long. I believe that this tension bar can cause some tuning problems but minimal string break angle is require in order to good playing feel. I dont know why they put Bigsby on some models, it might be curve of the body (mine is a bit curved, like Les Paul) or neck angle or maybe other finacial reasons
@Taylerlrox8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I got the Electromatic two years ago (love it) and it did not come with the tension bar on it. The angle after the bridge is at about 4 degrees compared to the near 12 degrees that "break angle" gives.

All these videos I see just glance right over a legend, Duane eddy then goes back to the hype men who try to make things sound chic and exclusive. What a joke. It's like the guys hosting these interviews don't even know who he is. The real guys who are worthy of respect are humble and knowledgeable and have actually done stuff with their guitars. Guitars aren't about being exclusive and fleeting. It's not about this one little feature changing your playing ability, or this new guitar granting you newfound respect among the community.

MIJ Gretsch is amazing and their custom shop guitars are worth every dollar past the 10k mark. Don't get me wrong here, Im a big Gretsch fan but I absolutely hate what they are doing now. Their chinese and korean products are hardly representable of what a true Gretsch guitar should be like.
@kingstumble8 жыл бұрын
Like every other company they need to be profitable to remain in business. How many guitars over 5K do you reckon they sell compared with those which cost less than 1K?
@nmfl1007 жыл бұрын
What kingstumble said. They need to actually sell guitars to stay in business. I don't see anyone complaining about Fender and Gibson doing Squiers and Epiphones. Besides, Korean Gretsches are great quality guitars.
@powbobs6 жыл бұрын
The Korean Electromatics are great Not everybody can afford a Pro Line. Affordable Gretsches lead to more sales of expensive ones later.
