He's clearly very experienced that's for sure. I would say most of the skill is in being able to read the fight though. He seems to have impeccable situational awareness and can very quickly figure out how the fight is developing, allowing him to respond appropriately. It makes me jealous because I consider myself a pretty good fighter but I just cannot read the fight like GS can.

I love how far you’ve come in using diagrams, inflight explanations, and then TacView debriefs to get at combat geometry and tactics. I think I found this channel like 4 years ago when you were first grappling with a solid training in BFM and the tacview videos were great, but clearly meander a bit with what to present and why, and now you’ve got it laid out nicely.

10:35 the viper gets nose on first because it wins the two circle, and this was still a two-circle, but the offset meant it was a head-on snapshot with plenty of room for jinking and pilot error, not the F-16 chillin on your 6. A professional F-16 pilot would do what GS said and match your movements. There are degrees to maneuvering in relation.

You are the channel which has up to date best explained the terms rate fight, two-circle and one circle. In my early sim-flying days I had to learn the hard way. 😊 I remember flying aircraft, which could get around the circle faster than mine, but I could turn tighter, if there was space, so I had to resort to "bobbing" up and down, to "mess" up the quasi-static race around the circle that the opponent would have won. I also remember surprising other opponents in a rolling scissors by pointing the lift vector behind them while keeping them "over the shoulder" and cutting throttle on the way down and powering on on the way up. Funny, when you "sort of" learn by finding out and "misinterpreting" old handbooks. With YT knowledge is disseminated basically for free. Thank you!

Good knowledge there. Btw you could also mentioned that who turn last deside if the fight flow would be 1C or 2C. In not fair play scenario players do build turning room before merge for lead turn but doing that they give up the flow decision.
