If you like the lovely Ann Margaret (Ariel) in this film, you have GOT TO SEE HER in BYE BYE BIRDIE! It's a classic 60s teen comedy, (one that changed the genre) and her first starring/star making role. The film is a spoof on the Elvis craze of the time...which lead her to her next film, Viva Las Vegas with the real Elvis! For my money, Ann Margaret was an inspiring woman on screen, always strong, capable, clever/sassy, intelligent, sexy as he$$, was a great dancee,.had a great voice and had an inherent talent like no other. She was a siren, akin to Marilyn Monroe, Sharon Stone, Michelle Phifer. She never took herself too seriously and made redheads all the rage! Hope you two check out Bye Bye Birdie at some point! I promise, you'll LOVE IT! Also stars Dick Van Dike (Mary Poppins, The Dick Van Dike Show), Janet Leigh (Jamie Lee Curtis's mom also in Psycho, Halloween H2O) and teen singing sensation of the time, Bobby Rydell. ALSO also...if you liked Jack Lemon (John), you might want to check out SOME LIKE IT HOT". Lemon teams up with another classic actor, Tony Curtis. (Jamie Lee Curtis's father), and Marilyn Monroe! A FANTASTIC and CLASSIC COMEDY from the Golden age of Hollywood that created a foundation for so many films to coIf! If not for this film, Tom Tanks never would have gotten his start as a result of his TV show Bosom Buddies (80-82) with a similar premise. Last but certainly not least, check out The Odd Couple....starring the two men in this film...the original film that started this cinematic relationship dynamic. Walter Matthau is hilarious on his own, but together with Jack Lemon, it was like PB&J...the perfect combo!

She & Elvis sizzled both on screen & off. They had a pretty serious relationship for a while. Then they remained good friends until his death in 1977. Both actors were very successful making 'buddy' movies where there were two leads playing off each other. Because Acting Credit Rules were fairly straight forward with the 'top billed' actor being shown first, they would put the first name lower than the second which was placed higher to satisfy both parties.
