GT350 OIL CONSUMPTION! How BAD is it?

In today's video we discuss my GT350 oil consumption. How bad is it really? I've had my 2017 Shelby GT350 for nearly a year now and have accumulated around 4,400 miles on the car. Since then my car has consumed about 2 quarts of oil, which is actually normal. For those of you that aren't familiar with the 5.2L Voodoo engine, it is common to see these engines consume oil. I've heard as much as 1 quart per thousand miles. I'm glad mine wasn't that much, but checking your oil frequently is a must for any GT350 owner out there!

My 1993 Ford Econoline Van has nearly 200,000 miles and it doesn't burn a single drop of oil, but yeah I understand the way engines are designed. Keep up the good work on the videos, although sometimes I wish you would upload more often.

Dude I always love the content you upload, this one was great. Me and my friend both one day want to own our own shop and have a lot of mustangs ourselves. Its really cool to see what having your own shop is like and how you can get done whatever you need to, no need to pay all the extra cash for someone else to do it, especially when you have a love for cars and the mechanics and all that. Great video man!

Jeff on those oil drain pans it has a air tap on the top edge so that the oil Dosent fill the pan quickly lol

plastic drain plug... car manufacturers are doing anything they can to cut costs now a days soon all these cheap plastic parts are going to start failing

wow didn't realize the Shelby took 10 quarts! but she still sounds awesome! and it looked like the oil was easy to change!

My 5.0 mustang takes 8 quarts and has lost about a 1/4 quart between oil changes. 4,300 miles and using 2 quarts is a lot? Strange!

POV awesome and what the hell jeff open the vent cap on the oil pan so it doesn’t overflow, I was like oh shit he’s gonna.. then you caught it ... lol

I have almost 6,000 on my GT350 (2017) and no oil burning whatsoever. I did add the PCV on both sides of the engine for better performance.

Motorcraft 5W-50 isn’t a robust oil, it shears to a 30-weight oil in less than 1500 miles. Thin base stock loaded with polymeric thickeners, which shear. As far as warranty, I’ve never seen a Ford dealer send an oil off for testing to verify you are using a spec oil. As long as the level is good and there isn’t evidence of starvation or neglect you’re good on the warranty front.
