I was gifted a beautiful small scented bottle with a hand painted Panda bear from a couple from Beijing. What type of gift should I reciprocate with?

Can you give a gift that is made by hand.. for example a scarf made by hand or draw a picture?

I think a handmade gift is welcome in most situations - although if you are giving a gift in a more formal situation (like to your boss), a drawing might not be ideal. When in doubt, go with the suggestions in the video!

The Chinese lady who does my nails, gifted me a beautiful silk scarf. So I must say, that was a nice gift to receive, although not handmade. I'd like to think if it was for a friend, they would appreciate it, but for formal occasions like a boss or someome important, I would definitely stick to the formal suggestions. This was a great video. My husband is Chinese, he agrees. 🙂

Wow that is interesting and very helpful! There is always something new I can learn, although I am already living and vlogging from China for more than 5 years in Harbin! Thank you very much! 🌹👍

Great advice!! From the reverse perspective, I received some beautiful and sentimental gifts from several Chinese people. One was a silk scarf, which was absolutely beautiful and the other was a tea set, which I have since kept on display in my home in the window of my china cabinet. This is not including the gifts from my husband and his family, he is Chinese. I have received beautiful things from them since we have been together, but those two items were just from Chinese friends and they stick out greatly. I could only hope my gift giving skills are as good.

This is a wonderful comment - thank you for sharing! Because gifts come with sentiments from the heart, they are a really wonderful way to build a connection with people in your life from a different cultural background, and to share what is meaningful to you. ❤️

Très utile à savoir, merci. J'allais justement offrir une belle montre à ma bien-aimée ... ... Je vais finalement lui offrir un collier ... Encore merci.

Emmm.... The map showed at the beginning was not accurate. If you truly do not want to include Taiwan, I understand the situation, but where is Hainan Province????? My home not even deserve to be showed? 😢

Definitely not intentional. Our animator is using a preset menu of images to work with, and admittedly that is not a great one! Apologies!
