a lot of guys swear by the MXC in all conditions, but if you are finding your kart takes too long to get going, then try the standard wheels MXJ

Hi! Great channel. A question, how will the douglas rims (130 front and 210 back) work on a OTK chassi? Will it notice any diffrence if you compared the Douglas rims with for exempel mxj rims?
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 4 жыл бұрын
I haven't used them in that long, so I can't really say. I would imagine they are fine if that is what you have, otherwise stick with the standard MXJ or upgrade for summer to the MXC and be happy you are rolling with the best!

Hi Derek, Question. I have two sets of AMV magnesium rear wheels. Both the same style except one set has 10 mm more back spacing then the other set. If I remove one set and install the other set that has 10mm less back spacing and I reset the rear track to be the same would this change any handling.
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 жыл бұрын
mate that's a great question. I haven't used these wheels so i don't have any first hand experience to help you. can I ask, have you used both sets on the same day? and if so what were the feeling of the karts balance front vs rear?

@@PowerRepublic No I have not used the 10mm less offset yet. I was hoping I could find out what should happen before I try it on one of our karts so I would be able to tell if I am getting good feedback from my drivers when I make the change. Thank you for your time. I do have one more question. When you are sizing a cylinder on a KA100. How much cylinder taper and out of round are you happy with. I have a hard time getting any less then .0002" or .00508mm.

First of all good job, fan of your videos! In this particular video I was missing a little more information regarding when to use high volume or low volume rims (temperature, grip, etc). My self I have Tonykart from 2014 and i need to say that I am very happy with the chasis. In your opinion how big of a difference you think there is between new and my model of chasis, in time (if there is any)? Thank you, keep bringig insides 😁😁😁
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 жыл бұрын
@@BojanLackovic I would suggest the MXC here in Australia. They are super popular with most karters in most categories and most brands of chassis. The MXL is most like the best for may KZ or OK1. Not really an option for the low grip classes like the 4SS or club day stuff. The 401R v’s 801r is a popular topic. Both work and are excellent. I prefer the 801 but almost unanimously the 401R rules supreme

Matiss Toffolo mostly the alloy wheels heat up faster so I think that is why most people go that way in the wet. The only trade off with Mags in the wet might be too slow to come on, but that is spitting hairs really

@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 5 жыл бұрын
a lot of the changes to the kart depend on the driver preference/type of tyre/ambient temperature etc. But I would say when you are over heating your tyres use an MXL and when it cold and slippery go back to the MXJ, as a rough guide. Then practise with them both over many weekends and find out when is the best time to use them at your race track/conditions.
