Guild Wars Maguuma Jungle Tour

Today I wanted to take us back 250 years to look at some of these areas we will be adventuring in Heart of Thorns. This isn't everything by a long shot but here is what things were like around the Sage Lands and the jungle entrance!

that druid chant smelled of foreshadowing. the idea of looking back 250+ years in the lore seems like a great way to approach speculation on HoT. a couple more vids like this wouldnt bother me.

As a GW player since 2006-2007 and have played the original game for like 5 years it brings back some good memories! Reading through the comments it shows that a lot of people that haven't played GW1 want to see more of this, and so do I! Maybe do a part of old ascalon with the Charr and the humans!

I love your videos. I already know a shit load of story concerning the Guild Wars universe but I can always learn something new in your vids...especially since I didn't pay that much attention to all the story connecting details when I played my chars through the story years ago. And every time I'm just massively impressed how almost everything in this universe seems to fit perfectly together. You should apply to A-Net as a story writer...I guess that would keep an awesome connection between GW1 and GW2 :D Keep going man, I love you!

IpoteticAMVsChannel Take a look at his channel. He has very old GW1 videos covering ALL the GW1 campaigns with lore. If you are just interested in Maguuma you can look for the missions and quests in Maguuma. It will show you a lot.

(referencing 13:45) maybe its me getting my hopes up about map additions to the old maps, but I find it interesting that the north west corner of Brisban has a chunk taken out of it (from the normal rectangle) right where druids overlook was. perhaps it will be a part of the quest (dare I use that word haha) for a ranger to become a druid.

I love mesmers! And I remember an old discordway variant that ran a panic and energy surge mesmer... I think it was something like that. As soon as 7 heroes came in the game I loved my duo mesmers :D

WoodenPotatoes Very cool! I always have a mesmer in my party spec'ed to interrupt everything an enemy tries to do. It's pretty useful in hard mode.

WoodenPotatoes I ran through all of hardmode with ease on my monk with x3 discords Panic Energy Surge and Sig of Illusion + a support Paragon aka Keiran. 3 necros 3 mesmers was the pve meta for the last couple years.

These missions were a nightmare to solo before heroes came into the game. Mhenlo was a terrible AI healer with terrible skill selections and no condition or hex removal, which were kind of the "thing" of these trials (disease spread from the little necro things and Conjure Phantasm spam from the Wind Riders meant a drawn out and inevitable wipe lol) Obviously they had no idea when they made this about "elder dragons" and other GW2 lore, but I'm curious to see if they try to tie in all the bloodstones and things into the expansion.

Ahh good times. Still loved how you actually cared and wanted to complete the storyline in GW1. Sadly, GW2 for me has fallen flat on making me want to get invested in any story they try to throw out.

Kryta from GW2 feels nothing like GW1. Looks totally different (landscapes don't change so drastically in 250 years IRL, but whatever). I bet, Maguuma will be just as different from the original. I'd love to see areas like Dominion of the Winds which I'm sure is very pretty or Deldrimor Front that we actually were in while playing GW1. I wanna see how those places changed. It bugs me also to have these odd chunks of the areas kinda trapped inside the explored map when nothing should really prevent us from going there...

Well, Kryta was in a worse state. Orr was still at the bottom of the ocean, recently that time though. Elona and Cantha were doing fine though. The local resident Asian/Arabic cultures that aren't seen in Guild Wars 2 because Elona is apparently under the control of an undead lich and Cantha got super racist. Would like some patch/expansion going back to those areas.

Are you referring to midway through, where his followers and the moa were just kinda glitching as they followed him? It's due to the wait mechanic in the first game. They wouldn't run off or engage if you told them to wait but they'd still follow you which is why it looked like that.
