To squeeze all that talent into one man is unfathomable. I know Edgar is an icon but the fact that he isn’t mentioned up there with artists like Prince is a crime.

@@thomasfoss9963 Peculiar....in Kokomo, Indiana I have an uncle named Erwin Cox who's second wife was named Loretta Toney. They lived a few miles away from my cousin, Larry Cox, who died of cancer about the time this Larry Cox posted his comment. Us Coxes have gotten a lot of flack for our last name which originated from the Cook name over in England around 400 years ago. One of my ancestors was named "Little Berry Cox"...imagine the numb nuts names he may have been called by trolls who like to slight someone else's name for a snicker. I had a next door neighbor my age named Richard William Bickel...and his brothers teased him by calling him Dick Will Pickle. So...I didn't feel too bad about my given name...though "Brad" still doesn't sit right...who wants to be named after a headless nail ? I seriously doubt that the Larry Cox who posted his comment above was my now dead cousin. My cousin was more of the timid, soft spoken type who was a church accountant for many years...all into the gospel scene with his family. But sometimes you just can't tell what your relatives are like behind their facades. He probably wouldn't figure me for a guy who built a huge washtub bass and likes to play badass songs like this one, Crazy Train by Ozzy, and a bunch of other rowdy songs that defy the stigma of what kind of band a washtub bass belongs in. I'm sure not into bluegrass !

Frankenstein rocks like no other song, a real classic, written originally to showcase the capabilities of the synth of the time 1973. Today’s musicians can’t appreciate what it took for Winter to create sounds that now can be done with a few buttons. It’s interesting when you consider how a synth of today is much lighter, has many more functions and wireless technology gives musicians much more freedom. I also agree that this crowd is kind of strange but hey, you gotta take what you get. I have heard several different live versions of the song but this is a little different: I wonder if the interlude / keyboard solo from 6:48 to 8:36 was intentionally put in by Winter to mock or punish the audience for either their lack of enthusiasm or for applauding in all the wrong places in the middle of the song?

Yes, it's interesting, for any of those old rockers that can still put it together, their best fans are now retiring and have the time and dough to go see some shows. I think you'll see a lot of old guys in the audiences for many artists. I saw Johnny and Edgar in 1976 on the campus of the university of Minnesota, a great concert. Unfortunately the University didn't like the way we behaved and banded rock concerts for a time. I thought it was all good fun. I saw Johnny again last year.
