GUNDRY CHILDREN'S ASYLUM | SOMETHING WENT WRONG

The Gundry/Glass Hospital was originally built in 1880 as a mansion. Bought by the Gundry foundation in 1900 as a women’s sanatorium as a home away from home. Acquired in 1988 by the Glass Hospital as it was renamed the Gundry/Glass Hospital. Serviced children from ages 4 to 12 with psychiatric issues. Closed in 1997 from debt and believed as well as child abuse. The asylum was an inpatient as well as outpatient facility towards the end of the asylum history. Many believe this mansion is haunted by a little girl. Come along and see for yourself as this night explore takes a rather scary turn.

I’m sorry you had to suffer through what happened to yourself here. While I use to go there I could feel all the trauma in the air and through the walls. But my take on it was to tell its history so we may not repeat it again. Hope your doing much better in life nowadays.

I will tell you about this place. I was admitted to gundry glass hospital in 93-94. The doctor said that I'm broken and couldn't ever be fixed. He put me on some strong ass meds and I was a complete zombie. I was allergic to a couple and that's why I think he said that. The therapists give you goals that were absolutely ridiculous and if you didn't meet them you were embarrassed in front of all staff and your family. They put my roommate in the quiet room for,3-4 days because she wouldn't eat in front of people. When you had your parents bring you stuff from home they would take it . They would keep you past your discharge date they would make something up I was supposed to be discharged on a certain date and I was released from the hospital 5 months later. They would talk to us like we were shit. I'm glad that place is closed.

Wow! Yeah I’ve heard some stories. I’m glad you came out to talk about it with me. I really appreciate and love to hear these stories. It’s very tragic what you and others had gone through. It was the real reason behind shutting this place down. Back in the very early days this place was a home away from home and did help other women. But over time the abuse and the neglecting started to be more frequent unfortunately. This place is the only one that really messed up things happen in every time I go back.

I’ve seen pictures of what some rooms looked like back when it was a women’s sanitarium. Very beautiful. It definitely was a home away from home. The atmosphere when walking in just takes you to a beautiful but yet dark place. Your kinda on edge when inside. And you’ll hear the strangers things that can’t be explained. Ok so I went here 3-4 times and nothing happened until the 3rd time I went with 4 of my friends and we were I think upstairs I was at the staircase going up to the third floor when I stopped mid way and my friends went two different parts of the house and I heard doors closing and keys jiggle like someone was running and I yelled out “yo y’all hear that” and heard nobody yell back so I took my BB gun off safety and yelled just in case that they were pulling a prank on me, then my friends show up saying It was just my mind playing with me but it creeped me out. But I would really bring 3-4 friends with you because that place really creeped me out especially the basement. There was roses everywhere

What I didn’t explain in the video is this asylum is in the top 10 most haunted places in the city. The group that was downstairs was another bunch that we ran into while exploring. I believe the mansion didn’t want them their. They did something to stir up trouble before we got there. So when I went upstairs by myself in that room I kept hearing loud bangs which the mic didn’t pick up on to much. I tripped at one point with a bang in the background. But I was like it something else. So as I started walking towards that opened door I would feel something telling me I’m not meant to be in this room. And on cue heard that hiss and it didn’t sound animal or human. I haven’t encountered much paranormal before. But this mansion you can feel what all had happened there.

Like I had stated in the most recent video of this mansion I realize this and any other places are no joke. This mansion had its historical value and not talking about most recent years. Others have contacting me telling me their stories. I wouldn’t mind hearing yours if you’d ever like to share. Even could be Anonymous if you’d like. Hope you can get where I’m coming as well.
