Guy's news: A long way from my hedge

On January 22, 2023, we took 49 scarecrows to the Houses of Parliament, to represent the 49% of fruit and veg growers who believe they'll be out of business in the next 12 months. Supermarket buying behaviour was cited as a leading cause. Later that afternoon, MPs debated our Get Fair About Farming petition, calling for better protection for farmers. I live in hope that the decision makers see sense before it is too late. Sadly I have little confidence and feel that it will be necessary for us as individuals to force change. CONvenience is preventing the shift that we need. People must choose slight inconvenience and discomfort to force change, as opposed to waiting for a crash and the subsequent crisis that will surely bring. 💚
