Hi Mathew, love your cooking techniques. I just tried your recipe today for plait bread and the only thing I didn't have was crisco, so I used 2 tablespoons of "Kelapo Ghee". Hi again Chef Mathew! I wanted to give an update to my first comment. I only had rapid rise yeast, so I mixed all the other ingredients, then added half a pack of the DRY rapid rise yeast (1 teaspoon) to the mix and this time I used 1 tablespoon of ghee instead of 2, and warm water to form dough. Then after kneeding just the same as before, I made my plait and let it sit for about an hour and baked for the same 25 mins at 350*. It came out perfect and no different than the first way. I read that you do not have to proof rapid rise yeast (only active dry) nor let rise two times which saved a little time for if you're in a rush. Thank you again!

For those, like me, who didn’t know what plait bread is, it just means braided. Challah is the traditional example. I though it had something to do with the dough, but alas, it’s just braid. Nearly any dough can be plaited, or braided. Wish our host would provide a little better culinary definition or history than just the internet definition of plait bread for those of us ignoramuses in his audience.
