People give him so much hate for his honest opinions but damn he wears his heart on his sleeve and he faced so much adversity. People don’t get how much he tries, what he’s really been through to come back. 2021 the crf 450 was so bad. Rolf (his German suspension god) always said this bike will kill him. If Ken would have been on any other brand he would’ve been ama sx champion 21. I think him winning this title made his sacrifices worth it.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. I believe becoming the face for WSX is the move for Roczen. It will probably be far more rewarding than being an add on or late addition to an AMA Supercoss team. Unless GasGas truly does add another 450 bike, his options on that front will likely be slim anyway. So, it makes a lot more sense to go spend at least this year becoming the face of this new venture if the finances can be worked out. See what comes of it and then go from there. It probably would be a lot more fun too.

It’s about contracts, budgets, and sponsor obligations/preferences at this point. It won’t be easy to get a contract done at this point. Possible but not easy. WSX is a new frontier where both could have lots of opportunity.

I think it wasn't that important to Ken mostly because this is the inaugural season. Only 2 rounds, mostly lower-level pros... All of that will start to change next year.

I want WSX to make it so that we have more races to watch but if they don't change some things, a lot of people are going to stop watching. The 3 short races back to back ruins it as at minimum, they need to alternate 250 and 450 to build the excitement up. They also need to get rid of those terrible quality cameras and wait to show any replays until after the races. They'll spend 2 minutes of a 8 minute race showing footage that looks like it's from the 1970s. I realize it will hopefully get better over time but these 2 rounds were so amateurish that it was very much like XFL football. Even the way Ralph kept talking as if he was trying to convince the crowd why this is better than the real Supercross when it wasn't even close. Get it together WSX or this will be dead in a couple years.

The video quality during the races needs a lot of improvement. Coming from watching supercross year after year in the states. This looked very not professional as far as camera work. Just seems like the camera is all over the place and the onboard cameras are bad bad quality. They should really figure that part out and figure the streaming out where it's not delayed 24 hours. If Kenny can ink a deal to be the face of WSX in these early years of the new promotion, and be part of it growing to be a truly respected World Championship event… That’s legacy, money aside for now, that’s the move. Kenny could be the first to become known genuinely as a worldwide superstar of the sport, in countries that haven’t even seen it yet. He also seems the kind of character who could build that legacy and be the Rossi of the sport. I think Jase said recent on a podcast “do the fans realise Rossi isn’t racing?” that the kind of star power Kenny has the chance to build here. I think Jett could create a similar legacy too if he gets a deal that allows him to join a WSX team too, but not sure that’s on the cards just yet.

I was the audio technician for this press conference. I set a splitter at the back of the room for media to get a direct copy of the microphone audio if they wanted it but most opted for room audio via their onboard mics. There was at least one WSX camera operator who had a direct feed so I'm sure a more professional copy of this conference will be released eventually.
