Today we are hacking your brain for better movement in your neck. Yep. No weird tech required.
//
Sometimes our physical body thinks it is keeping us safe by staying in a particular range of motion or pattern of movement, but with simple tweaks in how we move we can let the body know it IS safe AND we can actually move that body part a little further. Admittedly, I have a good range of motion in my cervical spine - translation: i can look over my shoulder and around (plus I’m a mom so I have eyes in the back of my head 🤣).
But, if you have more limited range or you woke up with a weird tweak, this exercise can really help.
//
Being able to look around is hugely important because it keeps you safe while driving, biking, and even just glancing around. When your ability to turn your head becomes limited it can translate to more shoulder and back tension as we try to find an ability to turn lower in the spine and it can fire up your nervous system when you feel like you can’t take in the full picture of your surroundings.
