I definitely need to start meal prepping. I started back to work in March after being off for about 2.5 years with my son. I just went to the dr on May 1st for a check up/ physical. It's a new dr but she wants me to use the my fitness pal app to see if tracking will help me lose some weight. I really do need to get my weight under control. Meal prepping would help so much since my work schedule isn't consistent but I do get 2 days off a week. It'd also save time on healthier meals because most days I have to be at work at 2:30pm. I'd probably also save money if I'd take something with me instead of buying something quick at work.
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Soooo many reasons you just listed right there to start meal prepping! I will tell you, try it one week and I think you'll realize that the stress you've taken off yourself for the rest of the week will be sooo worth it. Don't get me wrong though - it can get tiring. There are some days I feel like "no way can it be prep day already - I just prepped". But just try to keep it simple starting out. Maybe the first week just do breakfasts or just do lunches. You could even just do a day at a time if you don't like the same things each day. Just prep what you're having the day before. Let me know how it goes if you decide to do it! :)

Now that I do my shopping through Instacart, I didn't even think to check for those. You are right - they are so much better!!

Hi Kristi, I ventured out to Aldi today as I was on the hunt for the turkey tenderloin as I really want to make your recipe using the mayo/mustard mixture to brush on the turkey. The tenderloin I found was the fit/active brand with two tenderloins inside. It was in a rotisserie seasoned marinade flavor and it says to cook in oven for about an hour. Is this the same one you use? It is not precooked but rather a tenderloin you have to bake. Do u put the mayo mixture on the tenderloin after you take it out of the marinade? Do u kind of pat the turkey dry before u brush on the marinade or did I completely buy the wrong kind of tenderloin for your recipe?
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jean. No, the turkey that's cooked that I always refer to is called turkey breast portions or something like that. It's just a big chunk of cooked meat. I actually showed the package in this week's meal prep before I assembled the salads. But I'm familiar with the one you are talking about. So, yes, those are uncooked. So, I just dry those off with a paper towel, rub the topping on and bake them. Mine don't take an hour though. I think I usually bake them for about 30 minutes. You'll be able to tell when they're done.

I think I am gonna try the turkey tenderloin. Can u just give a bit more directions on how to do the veg lime cream? I am so wanting to try this. Thanks
@jeanayub48804 жыл бұрын
Can u tell me how to make the veg with the sour cream and limes ?
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jean! Yes, that veg lime crema is soooo easy. I just cut up zucchini and broccoli into pieces and put on a sprayed baking pan sprayed with cooking spray. I usually put salt and pepper and a little touch of Chipotle seasoning on it. Then bake in a 400-degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. (It really depends on how much you like them cooked. I like mine really roasted. I usually even put them under the broiler for a couple minutes at the end). Then for one serving, mix 1 ounce light sour cream with 1 tsp fresh lime juice and just kind of plop it over the top of the veggies. You can squeeze extra lime juice on it, depending on your liking. I got inspired by this recipe from a Home Chef recipe that served it with pork chops. You can find that recipe here: www.homechef.com/meals/tortilla-pork-chop

I hardly ever buy paper towels. I just save napkins from everytime we eat out. I do buy a pack of the cheapest napkins though. It's like 200 for $1 at most of the dollar stores. It last us awhile. I used think I'd never get by without paper towels but once I stopped buying them it's just easy not to need them.

I am not sure if i am doing this right but when i enter the nutritional information into the WW calculator i show more points then what is showing on your recipe. This happened on the sloppy joe casserole as well as when i made your blueberry pancake bake & the chocolate chip peanut butter overnight oats. Am i doing something wrong to make my SP come out more than what you have?
@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Doreen! I actually just talked about this in a chat video. It's very possible that points and calories will come out different due to brands (store brands, brand names, etc.) that are used or different ingredients. For example, for my syrup, it's 0 points, but some syrup people use is 1 point. Sometimes it makes a difference in whether you scan something or enter it manually. For the chocolate chip peanut butter oats, if you add all the chocolate chips in bulk into the recipe builder, it comes out higher than if you just add the individual amount to the individual jar. I always encourage everyone to always build the recipes into your own builder because what's on someone's site may be different based on what's used. Also, something to keep in mind is WW is constantly changing things and sometimes points of things change, so if a recipe was put up say two years ago and there's been a change in the ingredients since then, that could make a difference. Hope that all made sense. So, no, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I think there are just a difference in the calories and points.
@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
Doreen, I just realized you said you were entering the nutritional information into the calculator!! I'm sorry! Yes, if you're entering the nutritional information, it's probably not factoring into account the zero-point ingredients. That's why it's best to scan or look it up. Hope that's a bit more helpful.

Maybe u had already cooked the tenderloins and you were just reheating the cooked tenderloin with the mayo/mustard. I hope you can clarify. Thank you 🙏
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's the turkey tenderloins that are uncooked that I use the mayo/mustard mixture on. The other cooked turkey I buy from Aldi, I don't use that mayo/mustard on. They are already pretty seasoned. Hope that clarifies it. :)
@jeanayub48804 жыл бұрын
Planning Us Healthy I got the uncooked rotisserie flavored turkey tenderloins. Should I just drain and pat dry and then put the mayo/mustard rub on it? These are rotisserie seasoned so will it be ok to just kinda pat them dry and redcoat with your rub mixture of mayo/mustard mixture? Should I buy an unseasoned uncooked turkey tenderloin for next time?
@jeanayub48804 жыл бұрын
I also wanted to know if u seasoned the zucchini and squash before u roasted them. Since u were adding the lime crema to them after they were roasted I wasn’t sure if you seasoned them before u put them in the oven. Sorry I got so many questions 😞
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
@@jeanayub4880 I think it will still be fine just drying it off and putting the mayo/mustard topping, or you could just cook it the way it is too. If it's cheaper to buy the unseasoned next time, you definitely could do that. Sometimes I buy the seasoned ones if that's all they have.
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
@@jeanayub4880 Don't ever feel sorry about asking the questions. I'm so glad to help!! I usually just salt and pepper the zucchini and squash or sometimes I may add a little chipotle seasoning if I'm in a spicy mood! :)

I've tried the EveryPlate home delivery meals. I love the idea and the meals are amazing but NOT ww friendly. I love the idea because I am a single person and so I get the meals for 2 and eat one for dinner and take the other serving for lunch. I don't care for traditional meal prep because if i, for instance, used your sloppy Joe casserole recipe as is, it would make 6 servings so I would be eating that every day for lunch. The recipe sounds fantastic so I may make it for Sunday dinner with my family when we can all get together again. I think I will start meal prepping breakfast and doing your dinner meal prep bags. That way, I can have the 2 serving meal kits but ww friendly and make them and eat one serving for dinner and the other serving for lunch. i can make 3 or 4 meal bags on Sunday which will take me from Monday - Thursday and I can wing it on Friday or do extra bag. I think this will work out better for me than eating the same thing for lunch every day of the week. I am loving copymethat by the way.
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa!! I know what you mean about some of the home delivery meals not being WW friendly. I have tried many of them and they're so convenient but I just wish some weren't so high in points. Also, for the lunches or breakfasts where I make six portions, you could always scale that down. For the sloppy joe casserole, just cut the ingredients in half and just make three portions. Or that's one thing that freezes real nice! You could make the six portions and freeze each individually. I'm so glad the dinners are working out good for you!! I actually haven't been using CopyMeThat like I used to! I need to get back into using that! :)

@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lorraine! You definitely don't have to do three meals in a row. I only do breakfast and lunch the same, and some days I may do Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Just depends on what I'm feeling like. But dinners are always different. But again, eating the same three times a week is just me personally - I've always been that way, even before WW. Most days I just used to eat a sandwich every day for lunch. This is just to show possibilities. But with that being said, I totally understand meal prepping isn't for everyone and I respect that. :)
@jacquieplaschko87854 жыл бұрын
Lorraine Leblanc this seems like something that would freeze fairly easily and then you’d have it when you’re in the mood for it.
