That just shows how PEACEFUL being way out in the Wilderness is. The sounds of the birds, the fire cracklin', that 12 hour sleep that you got that you hadn't had in five years proves it!! Mother Nature......whoooOOO BUDDY!!!

Three great things about your videos- 1. You are awesome. No really. 2. The views and vistas you find are amazing. 3. You always have interesting food. I love the Spam spread. One of my favorite ways to have it is to fry it in a pan to get it kinda crisp and them mix it into eggs to be fried or scrambled. Whooo Buddy!

I have tent camped my whole life. I stumbled across these videos just before my last trip in the beginning of November. I thought there's no way a hammock could be that comfortable. So i bought a Hennesy hammock. I will never sleep on the ground by choice again. I am also hooked on your videos. Thanks Shug

So good to see you back out and to travel along with you. Thanks! I'm still trying for my first really great night's sleep in my hammock. But, the hammock is a lovely and comfortable place to watch the evening turn to night, and the night to very early morning. Then I DO fall asleep about 4:00. Still trying. I'll make it work. Thanks, Shug, for all the instruction and many great videos.

We do have black bears up there but I stay vigilant and try to keep it clean aa clean a camp possible… Do I do eat my breakfast from the Hamic but try not to get it all over me. It's not common for bear attacks to happen up there but it could happen. It is their neck of the woods. Also I do hang my food at night. And often I don't have any raw meat or anything like that with me. But… It could happen. I just never hike with worry

I live in Georgia. Down here one of my favorite places is Joyce Kilmer in North Carolina. What makes Kilmer different is in the memorial forest there are more trees over sixteen feet in circumference then any trail east of the Old Miss. Not so many people. More species of trees then just about anywhere in the world believe it or not. As you walk through those forest all the different textures of tree bark and shapes. Its incredible.

@davidkovachi2827
@davidkovachi2827 10 жыл бұрын
Joyce Kilmer is south of the Smokys. It isnt as tall as the Smokys but Kilmer has a reputation of being colder then the Smokys. See when the winds come down from the north it drags the high altitude air over the Smokys down directly over Kilmer.

I was just there at the mouth of gooseberry. Hung my hammock from a sideways huge driftwood tree just below the path from the pavilion. Just watching the white caps roll in on Lake superior

I was really expecting a Whhhooo Buuudddy right there at the end on the shoreline holding your arms out. G'day from Aussie land. Should u ever find your way to our faraway shores..you shall indeed b treated to a week or more of my most favourite little hammock camping haunts that I can muster up, should u wish to do so. Seriously it seems like the next logical step to your awesome hammock/trail walks/chill out videos....an overseas instalment

Big fan of your videos Shug, but I have a question. What is that hanging underneath your under quilt? It looks like a trash bag but I've never seen you talk about it. Did you make it yourself or buy it somewhere? Thanks.
