FYI if you're tall. I'm 6' 3" and I was able to get another 2.5" of leg room by mounting the plate with the holes, back by one hole. That will leave you with one empty hole at the end of the pedal frame. This will allow you to bolt the front pedal bracket using that single hole(two bolts) at the end of the pedal frame. That will leave the front pedal bracket hanging out the front without the ability to bolt the front holes of the bracket to the pedal frame. But it does not matter because the front pedal bracket naturally is forced down from brake pedal use/pressure. It would matter if it were the back pedal bracket, since that bracket would lift upon brake use. It also has the added bonus of reducing the ability of the CENTER of the cockpit frame to lift during heavy braking, since the pedals are further out. The frame still folds perfectly, and it does not affect the integrity of the cockpit. I have perfect leg room after doing this. Maybe even a little more room than I need. Note: You are still able to mount the angle plate(plate w/ holes) and angle arm just as you normally would, and it functions as normal, but you mount it one hole back than the directions show. And the pedal tray won't be adjustable/slidable, since the front pedal bracket is mounted to a fixed hole. Any adjustment to shorten it would require you to assemble it as shown in the directions. FYI I have my Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals mounted this way. YMMV depending on your pedal system.

I got this cockpit 3 months ago, same design but different brand, mounted TGT & TLCM. It is rock solid but heavy. so every time I disassembly the pedals tray before moving the cockpit. I also put a mad under the pedals tray, it helps to stop lifting up the seat when pushing the brake hard. And I don't open the wheel bar but just climb in & out Now I had the idea how hard Karl was pushed in the video, since I never flex my cockpit like he did.

Would you say with this lay back style that you can really attack the pedals and get full immersion in a rally sim? Jut got this rig today. Took ages to assemble. Microscopic , convoluted Instructions. Once assembled, I hooked it up to my G29. I'm 6' 2" height, and the pedals don't go far enough along the pedal tray, even at max; my legs are far too bent for my liking. I also have to have the wheel far too high to avoid hitting my knee on it's support bar. The back rest only serves to hold the lower back and anything above kidney level has no support whatsoever; the seat just inclines away from the upper back. Paint has already scraped off the tubing where the wheel support pivots. It is very rigid for a fold away, and the wheel felt solid in my hands, and I could brake hard with no noticeable play in the tray. It's also straightforward to fold away and stand up. I'm not sure how much I can complain for just shy of £180 inc delivery. I'll hold on to it for a week, to see if there are any adjustments that can be made to make it better. If not, I think I'll have to return it. [Update] There's more now, unfortunately. The tubular section, that the wheel deck mounts to slants down to the right, from the seated position, by a good inch or so. When opened, it is level (checked with spirit level on level floor). I checked the vertical tube that the mount swivels on, and it is skewed off the vertical. The only way to get the wheel deck horizontal, is to pull the right side up, with considerable force, whilst clamping it. Another issue is one of the red loops on one of the straps has totally unraveled to nothing, from a loose thread that got hooked on the Velcro. I have requested an exchange from GT Omega, but have noticed that the Sprint has sold out, so don't hold much hope.
@KarlGosling25 күн бұрын
The print could definitely be bigger! lol Bent knees/leg angle is a compromise with folding cockpits (Playseat Challenge is the same), the best you can do is adjust the velcro under your thighs to lower them as much as you can and/or lower the entire rig on using the height adjusters at the side. Again a higher wheel deck is also a compromise with this type of folding mechanism, Playseat Challenge etc are all the same. Yeah I speculated the paint would wear off there, needs to be a nylon or teflon sleeve. Hopefully you can get on with it or a folding cockpit is probably not for you and you'll need to look at a proper static option with full adjustments.

I’ve got the Playseat Challenge X and it does everything I need it to for my space limitations. This looks very similar and I can definitely see why you like it so much, Karl. It’s a good solution to the same problems the Playseat solves. The one thing that I envy in this is the castors. Very nice touch and I’ve been thinking about trying to attach something similar to my seat for a while. Easier said than done though!! Oh, and I do like the pouch at the back. Really thoughtful touch. All in all, looks like a great addition to the foldable cockpit market. Well done GT Omega!

I agree mate, the PSCX is a good improvement over the OG PSC but as you say this just takes the win I think.
@johnegan6608Ай бұрын
@@KarlGosling yeah, it does look like a cracking cockpit. The pedal “tray” is also a huge improvement over both the stock PSC and the even the PSCX. Fortunately I had a NLR FGT Lite to cannibalise the pedal tray from for my PSCX which was a life saver because trying to attach my Fanatec CSL pedals to that PSCX pedal tray was a complete ball ache. The solution GT Omega have here with the two bars (very similar to the NLR FGT Lite) should be the way all folding cockpits go!! Great review as always. Thanks 👍🏻

Hi Karl, just looking to get into sim racing with my 1st wheel and cockpit, been watching your videos and a bit thanks for what you do, it's a massive help. Was waiting for the sprint review as I was thinking of going foldable but also seen your review of the Victory. My main concern is how quick it is to adjust as I'll be sharing it with my 10yr old son. If I can live with it not being foldable would the Victory be quicker/easier to adjust between us? Once again thanks for the content, it's really useful for those of us who are just starting our sim journey 👍

Great content as always Karl! The pedal "tray" seems like a big up vs the PSC, but the way the wheelstand opens is a dealbreaker if you have the TV above the pedals and closer to the wheel. I have mine in a tea or sofa table 20cm from the wheelbase. I wouldn't be able to get in and out. Otherwise it looks like a great option at a great price. 209€ in Europe Edit: typo

Amazing! I have been using my Playseat Challenge for 4-5 years already and two things i did not like in it are that you cannot adjust the wheelbase height and the pedals sit flat on the floor. this is essentially what i've been hoping for, just a slightly higher rigidity foldable by using square tube with more convetional and stronger methods of construction. With the pedal 'tray' of my foldable NLR GT Lite, I did not have it inclined, but rather, flat on the floor. The crossbar at the end of THIS rig could be discarded so that the two tubes running front to rear lay flat on the ground. I experienced no lift from pressing hard on the brake pedal then. I was getting lift prior to that when I had the tray inclined. This looks like a great piece of kit!

Had to use that on the psc for a sequential gearshifter/handbrake (there was only room for one using an aftermarket solution). That would definitely seal the deal for me :)
@KarlGoslingАй бұрын
It's box section so you can literally mount whatever you want wherever you want, there's holes both sides for mounting and even just cutting a bigger shifter mount plate to accommodate a handbrake as well would work perfectly!

It's kinda funny how NLR and Playseat use their plastic wheel deck mount when this mounting system is so seemingly simple and it's probably a lot more solid. I just wish there was something underneath the swinging arm to actually support it from underneath rather than just relying on the clamps.

@KarlGoslingАй бұрын
Yeah the opening method may be an issue for some if you have you display sat over your legs, of course you do not have to swing it all the way open, only a few inches to allow you to step out. Not to argue with you but it cannot be "way sturdier than this" as this has almost no lateral flex and minimal longitudinal and having tried many PSC mods (I still have my PSC here to compare) this is overall a much better cockpit in every way.

In my opinion, this cockpit has a major design error, which is rotating the base of the steering wheel forward instead of vertically. For those who use the foldable cockpit in front of a desk, this creates a serious impediment to getting in and out of it. The Playseat Challenge solution is preferable for this use. The general concept is good but I think that little "engineering" was invested in the detail solutions that should improve speed and ease of use. In general, I consider the solutions to be less elegant than those of the Playseat Challenge. Thank you Karl for bringing us in detail all the proposals that are being presented.
@KarlGoslingАй бұрын
You can quite easily get in and out without opening it (assuming you are not physically impaired) but I agree if you need to place something directly behind the wheelbase it isn't ideal and the PSC vertical exit strategy is more suited for your needs.

It does have some flex but its shockingly strong with the straps and I can't notice it in play. I'm talking about the pro with the straps not just the gt lite. But yes pedal area isn't adjustable but ddoesn't flex at all with p1000s. Idk ive found it shockingly sturdy and stable compared to others. I saw the way the mount for your wheelbase moved and I feel like that's much less solid and the plate holding the wheelbase is much smaller. It just seemed like it moved more. But if you tested both and feel thats more sturdy who am I to say because I've never used that one. I would just be incredibly surprised to get better then what ive been testing while moving around. I mean it barely moved when I shake it. But you so have to be incredibly precise with how everything's tightened to get it perfectly sturdy.
