Face shield good no safety glasses bad. I have never used a wire wheel that did no throw wires out. It is nice to see another Pete coming back to live. Thank you for another nice video.

Nice to see youre not a regular truck/car hoarder! Getting them old trucks back on the roads is way better than just parking them side by side as "future projects" which in most collectors case means "rather let them rot for eternity behind the barn" than let anybody else actually do something usefull with them.. Not using cars and/or trucks is the best way of destroying them.. they suffer more from not running than of being used.

@@countrylife4195 true.. even I have been doing that.. parked a pretty good car next to my shop for just a couple of years for future needs.. well I needed it now( 5 years later), but theres no way it will ever pass inspection anymore, every major structural part below knee height is rotten far beyond the point of being repairable...:(

Cool ... the shutoff solenoid for mine needs air pressure to close and shut off the engine ... you may want to try and use shop air to fill the system and see if you hear it click when you turn the key on and off. Good luck in the build 👍

MAN!!!!!! I love you guys!!! Love your videos and while this is all fun and entertainment, so cool to watch someone who knows their stuff. The shutoff on the bus is air (ask me how I found out) this one is pure electric. I will post more on this as I can not tell if the solenoid is frozen or something in the pump is stuck. Since the tire with the broken spring is burned bald, I would assume they have been dumping the clutch to kill it for a long time. Cheers!

If you have ever had something fished out of your eye in the er you will understand. You haven't said anything about the tires but will they make it of will you have to put tires on? I'll bet that 1600 miles will be "EPIC"!

As long as it’s fluid and air tight and you have Suck/Bang/Blow running that 1600 miles is a cake walk ! You know the things that are likely to fail , electrical and coolant ! Are you yanking a trailer to Wisconsin ? If not I hope you back can take it and drop a few pounds of air in your rear tires , better ride ! Where abouts In Wisconsin you going ?

When you want to cut something round and make it square wrap something around the pipe and make it the ends and edges even. then mark the edge of the wrap and you will have a perfect line to cut Think of a piece of paper, if you roll it up and align the edges it creates a perfect circle

You can shut it off by turning the 3/8" shafts by the solenoid
@countrylife4195
@countrylife4195 3 жыл бұрын
Just found the problem tonight, the plunger was frozen in that solenoid, I will look for those nuts in case I ever run into that again. I have had it with ones that are air. You can usually stand on the gas and get enough pressure to get them to turn off. or if you dont like your fingers, feel for the little button behind the air shutoff and push it.

These exhausts are extremely loud next to a cab, why not move them behind the sleeper?
@morgansword
@morgansword 3 жыл бұрын
I think my question to you is "Why do they get parked in the first place"? as they are only nice once and after that, its acceptable to be seen in. I took one of mine that had been parked over twenty years.... and cleaned on it for a month before I could inside and not loose lunch. Some other animal had used the sleeper to "cash" his food supply in it and then forgot the suggested time in storage or something as it was very dead and forensics wasn't going in unless ten human bones were found. .... well almost as they said if its a real homicide then we are going in but we don't do dead animal.... wow. I had this old narrow nose pete with a 290 detroit (non turbo) and it only had four and four on the floorboards. You could eat your lunch while getting up to ten under highway speed... heaven forbid if you had to slow down for anything. Since a new sleeper on mine made the rest look really bad, paint, pieces cleaned and back on...etc., I was into a truck months and never ever intended to fix in first place but it kept going together like a sickness and before you know it.... It was "Morgan" put some new running gear in it.. forty thousand later all stuff redone. rad, eng, trans, rear ends, driveshafts.... and the list never stops. I was finally done with a truck that I already owned and had seventy nine thousand into it till interior and carpet so add another three thousand cheap for cost dollars. I bought that truck in 65 as a full kit from pete for only forty three thousand. So for money, who in congress did you catch in a compromising position?? Money doesn't really grow till you have tons of it and I've been afflicted with that.
