@@victoriashevlin8587 it actually is illegal in the UK, or at least is a (serious) breach of advertising regulations. The Code of Practice for advertisers in the UK states that "some medical conditions should only be referenced in ads if the advice, diagnosis, or treatment of that condition is to be carried out under the supervision of a suitably qualified health professional." The phrase 'some medical conditions' here refers to most potentially serious illnesses for which medical attention should be sought, including most, if not all, mental illnesses. Basically the only people who should be making claims about being able to treat mental illnesses are doctors, clinical psychologists and other approved mental health professionals, and even they should only be prescribing licensed and recognised treatments.

Absolutely. Sorry I'm late to the party, just found this wonderful jewel. I'm a nurse and people like this are genuinely a danger. I can't count how many times I've seen and treated patients who tried to take their own lives after not getting help. I've seen people who have cancer being told not to get professional treatment. 🙄 It's almost as bad as anti vaxxers.

One of my favorite things about my 9-5 (I’m a baker so it’s actually 4-1) is that once I clock out I NEVER spend a single second thinking about my job. I never worry about it until I’m getting paid to. I couldn’t imagine living, breathing, and obsessing about making money 24/7.

6:44 _"And was told I would be mentally ill the rest of my life."_ Okay, as someone who has been professionally psychiatrically diagnosed...I highly doubt that statement. Yes, many if not most mental illnesses are lifelong *but* never has any mental health professional told me that I'll be "mentally ill the rest of my life" or implied I was only a "diagnosis", that's not the language they ever use, at least not in my experience. They always talk about learning to cope and handle your illness, whether that's strictly through therapy or with the help of medication, and they *never ever* endorse that you will be "like this forever". There's _always_ room and hope for improvement and they push for that always. Maybe she encountered bad doctors, maybe she misinterpreted what they said, maybe she's lying. But to me what she's really pushing is the narrative not to trust "professionals", that they're making up your diagnosis to keep you doped up with "unnatural" meds or because they don't care. At least that's how it comes off imo.

These Huns have no idea what they're talking about. I have doubts about her stay as an inpatient- either it happened VERY differently to how she described, or even happened at all. If someone is highly depressed and has expressed serious su1cidal intent, the doctors wont pop them back out the door with a rubber stamped diagnosis of 'mentally I'll for the rest of my life '. 🙄 Nothing she was saying actually lined up. She's a scammer. Her upline probably told her to drastically embellish a time when she was depressed. So she would have a tragic sob story,and be able to appear vulnerable and relatable.

Working in and being a consumer of mental health services, I agree. I mean, it's a big mess to remove a diagnosis. But you can be in recovery, where your meds are right and therapy is going well or in some cases, you have "graduated" from both. I've never been told that there isn't hope, that I will be a mess forever. I was always told that recovery would require therapy and meds and taking care of myself - eating well, exercise, sleep, avoiding drugs and alcohol. I saw a site that talked about alternative treatment for borderline. It listed the oils to calm when angry and such. But it never mentioned DBT, which is the most recommended therapy for that diagnosis. It mentioned music therapy and oils. (Music therapist are only licensed for music therapy, not talk therapy like an LCSW or LPC. No shade to the music therapist, but the programs I've seen don't go into a lot of detail in psychology outside of music's effect). I'm sorry, I don't see where oils can take away the fear of abandonment that sort of defines the illness.

Im not going to lie. I was sat down by my mental health professional that my personality disorder will never go away. But that there is very good treatment for it and that it can be very well managed and I won't struggle my entire life like I do now just because I've been diagnosed with something that won't go away. It's not curable but it's very much treatable. That's not the case for every psychiatric disorder or mental illness but it is for some and good psychiatrists will be honest with you and tell you what to expect.
@1976mcfarlane
@1976mcfarlane 3 ай бұрын
My psychiatrist actually told me the same thing. Back in the 1990s often the mental health professionals would tell you that you will have your "chemical imbalance " for the rest of your life and most likely need to stay medicated indefinitely. I actually got very healthy, fixed my gut health and i broke out of the antidepressant rollercoaster in 2016. Been healthy ,happy and stable every since.

Based on being raised in a cult, here’s my two cents on why these people defend the MLM so heartily. Because their own outcome is tied to the MLM/cult/high control group. That’s what these groups do. They tie your own personality, goals, self-esteem, and more to them. So, the way you see them is the way you see yourself. They’re not truly defending the MLM, they’re defending their own choices. And, a lot of these people stay in these groups, bottom line, because they don’t want to admit they were so very wrong. It comes down to fear and pride. That’s why the MLM’s begin with your pain point. They link your vulnerability to themselves to trauma bond you to them. They love bomb you to strengthen that bond. They teach you that any criticism against them is really a threat to yourself. And, because you’re linked, you defend.

Using the fact that she “gets to” work at 1am “because of other time zones” as a selling point is the WEIRDEST thing to me. Like I am a night owl and often choose to work at night (I ACTUALLY have my own business) but I don’t do it all the time, and when I do it’s because I genuinely am in the mode and want to. I would never use it as a selling point for having your own business because it’s a me thing, it’s how I work best and when I think best, not the same for everyone and wouldn’t work for everyone depending on what they do for work.

I'm sure others have said this, but in my many, many years of having depression and anxiety, I have not once been told 'you will have this mental illness for the rest of your life' by a healthcare professional. Now, this YL rep might have had other mental illnesses which are considered less treatable than depression/anxiety, but I think being told 'this is your lot forever' on the same day as diagnosis, is very, very unlikely.

Just joined!! HOW in the world does half naked Uncle Larry entice people to purchase?! Will be put another piece of clothing on with each purchase?! Reminds me of senior year when the school blasted MMMBop over and over and over during lunch and wouldn’t stop until we raised enough money for some funding or another.

Love your commentary extra in this one! A lot of these huns remind me of the show Becoming a God in Central Florida. It's a dark comedy about an MLM in Florida, it's SO good. I watched it in a day and they do such a good job of showing the dark sides of MLM's that really don't seem too far off.

Personal Development is also an excuse for failure. When youre not succeeding they'll blame it on your lack of PD, so you do more PD instead of realizing the MLM is bull$hit

When I was teaching middle school and students would have an argument and then go on and on to me about how they “didn’t care”, I would always tell them “people don’t usually spend a lot of time talking about something they don’t care about” 🤣 It’s okay to care! Just admit that it upset you but in the long run you’ll get over it!

Oh man, we basically inherited a warehouse full of my grandmother's young living oils, so my mom casually looked into them before selling most of it on ebay. Supposedly this one blend is supposed to help with depression and period cramps if you rub it on the base of your skull. I tried it since I didn't have to pay for it, and after a few weeks of it, I concluded it didn't work. Big pharma's stuff is much more affective. lol Also I can't even imagine being a rep for an essential oil mlm. All those oils put together stinks up the entire house. It's disgusting!

Watching the sick MLM working sick, while working on my actual personal business while sick. Ironic. I have a greenhouse business and our opening day is in less than 2 weeks. I'd rather do that than have to recruite people and manipulate them into buying products. I'm currently listening to your KZbin channel and the birds singing at the same time and I get to play in dirt.

What gets me on all the MLM is how they all LOVE their company a business model. I mean, when you talk about work with someone working average job, he usualy has a few things to complain about, even if the job itself is good, like that one colleague that gets on their nerves, incompetent manager, new dumb desicions made by the higher-ups, etc. But when you talk about work with MLM "workers", even in private if you have one as a friend/family, then everything is always sunshine and roses. And the worst thing is they believe it, and when problems inevitably arise, they think it´s all their fault, that they didn´t work hard enough, and hurts them much more on personal level.
