What is really sad here is the woman bashing going on here. Covid has changed everything for us and women have found a business that allows them to make a living and raise their families. A lot of them are single moms trying to figure out how to make a living and stay at home. This provides an outlet for them that’s not stripping or hooking. Just like you are doing this sight - only you are spending your talents insulting people because “you are offended”. How about for a change you try building your fellow women up instead of trashing them? This isn’t about the company. It’s about an angry person insulting other humans.
@HannahAlonzo

The industry of multi-level marketing results in 99.6% of people losing money if they join, which actually disempowers women. It is pitched as something to give women more freedom, independence, and flexibility which is what gets women to sign up… but the unfortunate result (as shown by a study done by the FTC) is that they will end up spending more of their own money on the business opportunity than they will ever make back. I absolutely see where you’re coming from and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. But these videos are not “insulting people” or “trashing women”. They are spreading awareness about a predatory business model that targets and exploits women specifically. The goal here is to educate about the downsides of MLM companies so that women can make an informed decision before they decide to get involved in one ❤️
@maddiemoosky

I am sure if this was a business that allows women to make a living this video wouldn't exist. Sadly 99.6% of people in mlm make no money. You mention woman bashing and then imply women can either join an mlm or become a sex worker to make money!!! The options for women to make a living and support themselves and their families are limitless.

I've watched ALOT of Hannah's videos . . . and do NOT find these antiMLM ones to be "woman bashing" AT ALL. They are more about how the MLM's dont train properly ~~~

She’s not bashing anyone, it’s actually very helpful to have these videos so people learn more about mls and don’t get caught up in their lies.

MLMs hurt far more women than they help in all regards: financially, mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The purpose of this kind of video (and the anti-MLM movement) is to prevent women from getting into an industry that preys on vulnerable people under the guise of empowerment and freedom. ETA: I responded before watching because I felt I could respond to the comment. Having seen the video I wanted to add that I saw no “woman bashing” in this video. Pointing out when someone is lying is not bashing, and that’s all Hannah did.

I remember when Mary Kay tried to reel me in, they gave two "options": you either bought products so you could hold parities and actually give physical examples to your "customers", or the customer ordered it through you and you had to pay all the shipping fees. And I recall thinking buy a physical pack would really be the only way to run "the business" because who would buy from me if they couldn't really try the products in person? And their prices for packs were utterly *obscene* like one was $300 I think. Oh but don't worry! They provide you with a MK credit card to cover that! The rep wouldn't even tell me the deadline I had to pay it off until after I pushed and pushed and she tried to quickly brush it off like, "Oh yeah like in a year, you *have* to pay it off by then, but no worries it's a while away."

But they are Empowering women & ENRICHING their lives. They will tell you you can write that off on your taxes as a business expense. It's not that easy & if you can manage to do it, that doesn't mean you will get that money back. You might even need someone to do your taxes because the stipulations are complex when operating a business from your home. I know because I worked for H & R Block & would not want to work up the depreciation on your office furniture. 😑 Just another lie!!

"I used to be against exploiting my fellow women, but now that I might make a buck out of it I've changed my mind". JUST. STOP. HUN. For the channel- you should do whatever you like! I don't think there is any one formula, so whatever sits right with you is the content you should make. This is such a good point! People usually aren't anti-MLM because MLMs aren't to their tastes, most are anti-MLM on moral and ethical grounds because it's an exploitative and abusive system meant to do one thing: steal your money. So Huns saying stuff like, "Oh I used to be anti-MLM!" sounds like someone saying, "I used to be against murder but then I tried it and liked it so I changed my mind."

As a hairstylist, this Monat crap pisses me off. You are 100% correct, there's no "putting your hair back into the anagen growing phase". Once the hair is released from the follicle, it's gone. Minoxidil and being pregnant are really the only ways of keeping your hair in the anagen phase.

One thing that's annoying is that when MLM huns say "There are bad companies", they're never specific. While I believe it could be because they could get in trouble (defamation), I think they just say that to save face. Or, they'd give the names of companies that none of us are talking about. It's similar to when they say that they're "debunking" a Anti-MLMer: They never go after the actual big creators, they just find someone with a tiny channel because they're afraid of the repercussions.

I just covered a video I found on IG a few days ago on a Monat top rep hating the phrase “no MLMs please” from Facebook groups and swearing that her MLM isn’t sleazy like the others…yikes on that. Usually when someone says that you can earn a free car or big paychecks and amazing opportunity, I point out that possible doesn’t equal probable. Sometimes we confuse those two words, and MLMers take any miniscule possibility amd make it sound like it’s something you will likely achieve, if only you work hard enough 🙄 It amazes me how much more anti-MLMers seem to know about the MLM than the people in them.

Doesn’t the annual membership fee (or whatever they call it) count as paying for your training? It doesn’t sound like “free” training. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like the same thing as a college student saying his classes are free. No, you get to go to those classes because you pay tuition. You get to sit in on MLM training because you pay to be part of the MLM.

Shameful I know but their dry shampoo and hairspray (still have these), detangling spray (this ran out quickly 😅)…I kept a few samples of their oil and let me telll you that crap burned my scalp like nooooo other, it would have burned my scalp if I hadn’t rinsed my hair out in time! It held like burning acid the minute I rubbed it into my scalp And my hair went from thick, full and curly TO thin, pin straight and like paper strands that easily got tangled when washing my hair using monat 😭😭 I was so foolish and hyped up by team thinking it was a good thing but it wasn’t!!! That sounds like the effects of a relaxer. If you scratch your hair about 15 minutes before using the relaxer or while it's in your hair, you will feel the burn, lol. And using a comb to comb it in can cause burning if you accidentally rake the comb on your scalp. After a bad chemical burn that has left a spot of my hair growing much slower than the rest, I decided to go "natural" and no longer relax my hair. But I knew of those risks because it's stated in the instructions. You don't expect that from a SHAMPOO. And never will Monat admit that their products might be harmful.

I know this comment will be almost a whole year later, but it stuck out to me so much how the one woman said "and it's FREE training!" Like................ I recently-ish graduated with a degree for a specific industry, and am working at a place in that industry. As a new hire AND a recent grad, there was automatically a certain amount of training I needed to do so I could know how to use all the analyzers/machines that specific place uses (and since those can vary from the ones we learned with during school or at a different workplace). All this training? Part of my normal shift. As in, I clocked in like it was a normal day at work. I got paid because I was at work, and being trained was a normal part of the expectations of me as a new employee. "FREE training!" Yeah, um, and you should actually be getting paid for it???

It still baffles me how they don't notice that "I thought mlm was a scam, but now that I'm in one, I know it's not" makes NO sense. How the hell would you end up in mlm if you thought it was a scam?!

I fell into the anti MLM rabbit hole a few months ago after my roommate fell victim to it and got me into this MLM hun circle of hers, drove me absolutel nuts. It started of as being useful for me to learn about these businesses and I even got my rooommate out, but at this point it's just for entertainment. Even my boyfriend watches some vids with me when he can, he loves it too. As much as I love your sassy, spicy "coworkers", it's such a breeze to see how you approach this and how articulate and calm you are. You're such an asset to this community and the fact you are uploading a bit more now is so exciting!

@@HannahAlonzo I can't speak for others, but I love supporting creators, especially smaller ones that bring such joy. I feel like there might be other people who feel the same way. Maybe keep it on your radar until you are ready to take that step? Lots of love!

So, for the last claim about "essential oils" helping clear out clogged follicles... Yes and no, the esters in essential oils can be powerful solvents that can dissolve oils and plastics as well as certain organic compounds, but the reason their in this compound is to stabilize the other oils in the mixture and thin it so it doesn't have the texture of motor oil and to provide the scent. Higher concentrations of esters would do more to dissolve and remove body oils from pores and follicles, but are also toxic and damaging to skin and living tissue in general. Think of this mixture of oils like mixing acetone (nail polish remover) with motor oil. The acetone will thin the oil and let it spread more easily, but quickly evaporate, leaving the oil wherever it was upon evaporation. What's going to happen in the case of putting this in your hair is that it will lightly dissolve the oils on your skin and hair and allow it to flow more easily, and then deposit those oils along with mild acids based on gravity and surface tension. What this means is that the oils will spread more easily into the pores and down the hair, but also deposit dangerous solvents and acids INTO the follicles, which could lead to temporary or PERMANENT hair loss. There's a reason people with more sensitive skin complain of these products BURNING their scalp or making their hair fall out. If you washed your hair in nail polish remover or lacquer thinner, it would have similar effects, though far more dramatic. This is essentially (pun intended) like using watered down paint thinner on your scalp.

Here's the difference btwn an MLM and me giving product recommendations... If someone asks me about my hair products I will tell them what it is and maybe where I got it. What I am NOT gonna do is try to SELL the products to them myself! BIIIIIGGGG difference!!

If you don't get anything out of it either, it's much more genuine of a recommendation. If you stand to benefit, you're clearly biased. I don't know how they don't get that.

when my sister-in-law joined monat, she sold to my mom bc she wanted to support her. my mom and i share a stylist and when i told her she was HORRIFIED. the next time my mom got her hair done, she got an earful hahaha! but i think she only ever bought shampoo and conditioner. but my stylist said that some other hair stylists in her building used monat in their services and she said that it was her personal mission to inform them enough why that was a bad idea.

I'd love one of the anti-MLM people to do a bit more explaining about how the * actual * company works, i.e. those who own it and who manage product sourcing and shipping, accounting, marketing etc. Are they run along traditional corporate lines, with employees and benefits comparable to normal corporations? Are they all secretly laughing at the distributors, 99% of whom make next to nothing?!

I love how these girls are all about getting the info from the source aka the people actually involved in the company, yet when the info from the source is anything negative it’s suddenly invalid. I am less concerned with the hypocrisy of this than I am with the sheer fact that they can’t even see how contradicting they sound. If you’re gonna lie at least make it a good one 😂
