So as a chemist as soon as I saw that the propellant they were using wasn’t flammable my thought was: but the only nonflammable propellants for cans are the old ozone destroying CFCs. They do not react under normal conditions and are therefore not flammable. We don’t use those anymore because of the extreme environmental damage they cause. Sure enough MONAT is supposedly using tetrafloropropene. This is a 4th generation refrigerant that is less harmful than earlier CFCs but is still being phased out because of its terrible environmental impact. So I guess they think holes in the ozone and high contributions to global warming is good?! Reading a little further this is a pretty new chemical and there isn’t even data on what it’s really doing in the upper atmosphere though it is suspected to break down to…. ? It is still recommended that these chemicals are reserved for industrial applications that cannot use an alternative not hair care.

Nonetheless, hopefully no one’s hair is that close to an open flame in general.

Oh, science. Thank you for the explanation of the propellants. Here’s what’s funny: they “randomly” chose dry shampoo to be the product they do an experiment with. Dry shampoo, the product itself, isn’t flammable, as you said. Hair spray, however, usually includes alcohol, which IS flammable, meaning the actual product, not the propellant that dissipates, can catch fire.. I’d put $ down that they deliberately didn’t do the experiment with hair spray - because then their specious argument would be transparent. Monat wouldn’t be any better than any other brand. But no, I’m sure it was a totally random product choice.

Thank you for explaining that these people were trying to say that it makes your hair flammable. I genuinely could not figure out what the heck they were trying to say with that experiment.

Their over the top reactions to the dry shampoo propellants catching fire are so annoying. Also, the fact that they're wearing goggles, but left their hair loose is an interesting choice.

I hate the mom shaming bc as a kid whose parents didn’t go to my events bc they had to work (dad was in the army and deployed a lot and mom was basically a single mom at times doing her job) I don’t blame them nor do I feel neglected. It wasn’t bc they didn’t want too it’s called they was providing for me. So ya as a kid who survived those days I’m fine thanks for asking lol

@courtneypuzzo25023 жыл бұрын
@@beckiehubley5798 there's only certain trips where parents were asked to go as assistance to the teachers I.E. taking the kids to a water park at the end of the school year my dad was usually a chaperone for those trips if he could get the day off from the police granted we went to Canobie Lake park which is in Salem New Hampshire

I had VERY busy parents growing up. Both worked 60ish hours a week. My brother and I got on the school bus at 6 am (rode it for around 2 hours every morning), got home between 3-8 pm depending on school events. My mom or dad were usually home around 7 pm. We made our own breakfast, got lunch at school, made our own after school snack, and often cooked our own dinner. I got myself up in the morning with an alarm. I had no one checking over my homework, doing my laundry the night before, or getting me out and down the driveway in the dead of winter in Northern Ohio while it was still dark. I told some older ladies this once and they seemed to think that I was a horrifically lonely and neglected child. My brother and I were very close and our parents loved us and enjoyed the time they DID spend with us. Quality over quantity I say,, and I grew up to be a confident, self-sufficient, independent adult. My brother and I are also both fantastic cooks and taught ourselves most of what we know. I'm VERY glad my parents were minimally involved in my personal or school life.

@@Melissamms I’m glad to hear this. My mom was over involved in my younger brothers life and now he is 18 years old, never had a job, not In school, can’t even cook an egg, and does 0 physical activity. It’s so hard to watch and we don’t have a good relationship because of this

Happy New Year Hannah! 💛 I hope you had a lovely break. Also I am OBSESSED with your hair in this! 😍 I have two things to say about that first video: 1. I’ve never been more annoyed about Monat coming to Australia than I am right now. My family lost everything to a bushfire in 2003 and the thought of these huns running around with homemade flame throwers during our summer scares the absolute crap out of me! 2. I am married to a medical scientist and I wish you came as a “Google translate” kind of option so I can figure out what the heck he’s trying to say when he talks about his job 😂😂 you really are an incredible teacher!

Happy New Year Hannah!! 🥳 My daughter, who you remind me of, is a teacher so she reacted to the idiots with their fire experiment and it made me laugh.She said these are the same parents that would probably freakout if the teacher did this stunt!Well, the next video of the girl in pre-op trying to brag to the nurse made me react because as an RN who has worked surgical as well as recovery, I can say with confidence that the nurse was being nice while at the same time rolling her eyes with the need to post on social media in pre-op. That nurse was making more in an hour than the hun does in 6 mos! We can all prove it but the mlm reps will try to say I am wrong but never show proof. That isn't even taking into consideration overtime, holiday or even pay differential for night shifts. Great video as always, but got us both! Lol 😠😂❤

It’s like that stupid, “Oh, this McDonald’s hamburger patty doesn’t rot, so McDonald’s burgers are some rubbery space-age meat polymer, not real meat!” Yeah, thanks, Chef Escoffier. Except NO cooked meat patty, not even the ones you make by hand at home using fancy organic meat, will rot in the open air after being fully cooked. That’s just not the way meat works. That “science experiment” only proves that you’re an axe-grinding ignoramus who needs to lie and trick people to make a point, which doesn’t inspire confidence in you or your point. Lol, sorry, I just really hate these “a science experiment!” things that are nothing more than fakey activism.

Yeah these high school level experiments are always hilarious to me. 😂😂 They just make the consultants look ridiculous, with how easy it is to prove how meaningless they are. Also what legitimate company would resort to stunts like this to prove how good or how much “better” the product is than something else.
