Hmmm… I just bought a 182000km 2013 Ford Focus for our summer house on the west coast with the 1.0 Turbo petrol, and the day after collection the car, the engine light came on. I had to take a ferry into the mainland and visit a dealer who diagnosed it to be a clogged up catalyst, which I had to schedule a new appointment for replacing the catalyst the coming summer as this is our holiday car. I must say the Bugatti service is very appealing to me. Maybe I should consider a Bugatti the next time🤔

I know that feeling having enjoyed many a super bike in the past. Car drivers would be shocked how easy it is to hit crazy speeds and then be back down to legal speeds without breaking sweat. Firstly, a big thank you to the owner for letting Harry do a proper review and thanks to Harry for daring it with a non-factory car. Just watching it, this car is so outlandish, I somehow struggle processing it. I ve seen one once on display, what s really striking is how small it is, there was a 812 nearby and it looked huge in comparison, thing that was also nicely shown in the vid comparing it to the Jaguar. Given the price is kinda irrelevant at this point, I think Bugatti should propose a "display engine" as an extra, one an owner could put on display next to the car. The way they shaped the air intake to the front in alignment with the lights helped the front a lot compared to the Veyron...the Phaeton headlamps always felt a bit out of place in the Veyron even though I also find Veyron s more serene design great but the Chiron is a great evolution.

It's a pinnacle sales trick. You can build a shovel that sells for $25K and is only as good as the operator, just as aggressive guys in Corvettes will beat pants off of this thing because the owners will be too tense about costs to actually go faster than the Corvette. The fact that you compare a Bugatti Chiron to a Lotus Elan as an engineering masterpiece makes you look an absolute clown. Just like the clowns in Corvettes you speak of who (given half a chance) will try it on with a Bugatti owner in the hope that they won't have the balls to run their car flat out. Furthermore I highly doubt that whoever has the money to buy and run a Chiron will not at least once try to get a taste of the immense power it's got to give which even at half power defecates all over a Corvette.

I think this could possibly be the best review you have ever done, of course a lot comes down to the fact it’s this car, but that drive, on those roads, in this car had me memorised. This review certainly rivals the tour you did in the 812 Superfast which I think is my favourite up to yet. Keep up the great work Harry, exceptionally relaxing and interesting content 👍🏻

One of the reasons it will have a fairly "slow" shift is the engine size. With any automatic, you can only shift as fast as you can change the speed of the engine. It's a big heavy engine, it will be quite slow to respond.

The fuel consumption of Bugatti Chiron models is quite high due to their powerful engines. Here are the approximate fuel consumption figures: Bugatti Chiron Base Model: City: 9 mpg (miles per gallon) / 26 L/100 km Highway: 14 mpg / 17 L/100 km Combined: 11 mpg / 21 L/100 km Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+: City: 9 mpg / 26 L/100 km Highway: 15 mpg / 15.7 L/100 km Combined: 12 mpg / 19.6 L/100 km Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport: City: 8 mpg / 29.4 L/100 km Highway: 13 mpg / 18 L/100 km Combined: 10 mpg / 23.5 L/100 km These numbers can vary slightly based on driving conditions, driving style, and specific model tuning. Given its quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine with around 1,500 horsepower, the Chiron is more focused on performance than fuel efficiency.

@@kylem324 Mainly taxes on engines bigger than 2.7l but also a rather devastating “punitive tax” on horsepower. These taxes followed what was called the “Pons plan”, a strategy planned by the government to regulate the french auto-industry, causing the inevitable death of manufacturers like Delahaye, Delage, Bugatti or Hotchkiss to name a few. The end of the Second World War led also to the nationalisation of Renault as a punishment for its collaboration with Germany. You are right, France made some really interesting cars post WW2 like the invention of the hatchback with the Renault 4L, the innovations that came with the DS and the 2CV. France has always been the birthplace of many innovations when it comes to cars but the french auto industry always suffered from its biggest foe, French executives.
