I remember when I went from 4g to regular wet grass pitch I was mind blown at how different it was. Completely understand what he's talking about. I was used to nice bounce of the ball, speedy rolling etc then went to the complete opposite. Some parts were sluggish and other parts completely slippery. Just a whole other story.

Unbelievable to see the Beast come to Hashtag. I personally think a contract of player/coach would be perfect. I am sure you have talked about that too. Because he could only play maybe 10-15 games in a season and as a coach, he would be vital. Also, perhaps the biggest thing is, if he played and coached, the marketing aspect of that I think will pull more people to the stadium and to this channel. But that’s just my thoughts. Football will miss Akinfenwa. You can tell he's a good bloke in every sense of the word, and even like many have said in the comments, just having him around from time to time would be huge. You really need someone who can inject that kind of 'big brother' energy... someone who just says it how it is and riles the players up a bit to play for each other and truly give 100% - that kinda stuff really does make you make that one run in a game that without someone like Bayo around, you probably wouldn't. Best of luck to him in all his future ventures. UTT!

Full credit to Spencer for getting Akinfenwa to play for 45 mins. You never know maybe down the line he could come back on the coaching team. We have a fantastic set of players. Not just the regulars from last season but the new players that have come in so far are mustard. Hopefully we can build on last season and boy we have the quality running through the club at every level, mens, women and youth.

As a groundman I can tell you 4g surface causing more injuries is no myth. There is 0 give in the profile..for example when making a tackle the impact of your foot on grass will rip the surface allowing your foot to come to a more steady stop on 4g the moment your studs get within the rubber crumb - game over. The foot will stop instantly with the rest of your momentum carrying on through causing alot of minor injuries and I've seen a few major ones which wouldn't have been if on grass. However, 4g pitches are huge money makers, often a large portion of money made by clubs is through pitch hire.
