Ross' high energy crazy-intro really bled out into his golf strategy this time, he was really whacking that ball something fierce. EDIT: It's really only very loosely related to what Smith was talking about regarding gambling, but I just read _Confessions of a Yakuza_ and it's a super interesting book about the accounts of a guy who became a Yakuza in the early 20th century when their main business was running the gambling. Heartily recommend it to anyone interested in that kinda thing, a weird combination of sleaze and honour.

On the other hand, losing bet after bet and feeling like you have to bet higher and higher to win it all back is a real drain on the psyche. I can only imagine how much that'd be amplified using REAL cash. Besides that, I only know how to play blackjack. XD

The east coast is veeeeery different than the west coast. The coast and the middle also have dozens of different cultures inside of them (think urban Portland OR, vs rural Central OR, vs small shore town with a mix of economic classes and backgrounds) Even in "the middle" Colorado is very different than Illinois, even in the farming communities between both states their are different ethnic and religious backgrounds that influence things.

Trott is really ill informed about the Alec Baldwin situation, he was advocating for a better work environment during the production. It was the armourer that caused the accident because they and the AD didn’t check the revolver before declaring it a cold gun (which means there are no rounds in the weapon). The armourer would also load the prop guns with live rounds and shoot cans with other crew members during breaks. The current theory is one of those rounds was left in the gun but the armourer still should have checked it. Baldwin did not take part in this and was not responsible for the weapon at all. He should have been able to rely on his armourer and AS
@kamikazesopp3 жыл бұрын
When a big accident like this happens, the assumed responsibilty falls mostly on whoever is perceived as being in charge. It also became an outlet for people in the american movie industry to air their grievances with other poorly run productions and generally low security standards. I agree, though: while a certain amount of the responsibilty lies with Baldwin, the "murderer" is the negligent armorer and/or AD. But Baldwin will probably never live this down.
@dye_anna3 жыл бұрын
@@kamikazesopp sorry I must not have been clear, Baldwin is not legally accountable for the death and in my opinion is not morally accountable. It’s also almost definitely not murder because there seems to be no forethought or malice, at best it’s a tragic accident and at the worst it’s manslaughter by the armourer and AD
@ncljyn3 жыл бұрын
I thought this too. When it was mentioned I was like 'oooo nope, that's a bad take guys'.
@connork83213 жыл бұрын
@@dye_anna it's still his action, whether there's negligence involved with other people is irrelevant to his own negligence which in the end was the deadly consequence.
@dye_anna3 жыл бұрын
@@connork8321 that’s not true at all, especially not in a legal sense. There was no negligence on his behalf because not only was the gun declared cold before being handed to him, but the weapons on set are completely the armourers responsibility.

10:00 talking on gambling... the local bookie did this thing where you can gamble "fake" money and whoever gets the most gets 10% of the total... i did it and racked up £400 on roulette, so i won £40 haha. wouldn't do that with real money though
@loganl75473 жыл бұрын
Gambling should stop when it stops being fun. Playing poker with your friends for the nights beer tab = generally fun. Playing poker with people you've never met, in a backroom, for your whole pay cheque = not fun, and just chasing a high. Smith nailed it though, no company creates a game to lose money, period, and gambling with the mindset that you ARE going to lose your money may sound defeatist, but it's healthier than the delusional mind set that "I can win, I just have to be better at it".
