Yeah it’s pretty impressive these days. Fully raytracing, caustics, refraction, sss etc. it’s really nice to use.

@@3dscanstore Wow! I think I'm going to get Marmoset then. Thanks! Btw, that is an amazing scan. How much clean up and post work are you doing these days? I assume you're using pores textures to achieve this sort of results, no?

@@AlexTamayo. yeah you should give it a go, it’s a huge time saver and getting better with every update. Thank you! Yeah we do about a days worth of retopo / cleanup work on each one. The skin and pores are a combination of extracted detail from the textures and actual geometry. We’re not using any augmented details to define pores or wrinkles. The only thing on there that isn’t extracted from the actual scan is the micro map that only really creates the sub pore level stuff, like the lines within the pores themselves.

It is mind-blowing that you can get that level of detail from just the cameras. Last question, I was looking for it on your website and couldn't fine it, which cameras are you shooting with currently?

@@AlexTamayo. yep it’s me :) we’re using a combination of 100D’s and 5DSR’s about 120 cameras in total for these scans.

Hi James, may I ask how you extracted a 16k disp map using Xnormal? Im trying to do it with the anim ready bodyscans, baking high poly to low poly, but at the end with the interactive tone mapper, i cant seem to get a proper map with 0.5 mid grey value( 0.5 midgrey so I can edit the map in photoshop) Also, my map has these low poly straight lines even though my Hp and Lp are both divided 6 times and I've checked smooth normals. It would be great if you could make a short tut, cos I've tried for days to no success. Thanks again for these great tuts on your channel!
