3:43 Kip literally said " I lost 40lbs in 2 months without even trying." They're saying they are not sure where everyone is getting the "2 months" from, that it was 6 months and not 2. They're getting it from his own mouth from the video. Lol. I'm sure it was an honest mistake but I just wanted to point that out that false information isn't being perpetrated in the comments. People are saying that because you said it in the video...

That is what i had always heard. On checking the newest guidelines, one to two pounds for a period of six months is recommended. After that time period other adjustments are to be made according to the person's needs. Perhaps it's now time to reevaluate that regimen.

Butter, avocado,& good fats from meats whatever it is you are eating for good fats. I struggled with energy when I first started keto because I just wasn't eating enough fats. When I started doing fats my energy when up so much. Thanks for sharing and being an encouragement you and your whole family. We appreciate youns! God bless!

Kip, I’m not a nutritionist but I think reducing your eating window down to five hours is too narrow. Excessive intermittent fasting can interrupt sleep, which you talked about, and increase stress levels. As far as the Keto diet goes, fewer carbs is not necessarily a good thing. Your body needs fuel to burn for energy and the Keto diet can cause fatigue and low blood pressure which could account for the low energy and dizziness you experience. It all sounds too severe and I don’t think our Creator would approve of not having enough appetite now to enjoy the good gifts he has given us. The fact that you don’t have enough hunger to maintain a healthy weight is alarming. You really, really don’t need to lose more weight. Above all, you don’t want to cause more problems than you fix. This is just my two cents worth. I love you all. You are a beautiful family. Please be careful not to over do it.

Kip, please remember this summertime heat can cause us to loose a LOT of electrolytes when working outside, please make sure you are getting what you need along with healthy fats. A probiotic might help if you did a hard cleanse. I've had the stamina, low energy issues caused by low thyroid and heart concerns, (yes, beating in my head, tachycardia that required a trip to ER and IV med to get my heart back in rhythm) -since then I sought out a functional doctor who has helped with advising what nutrients I need after testing - has helped a lot. I have found that when I eat sugar or something processed I end up with body pain for a few days - I associate those things with pain. Yes, gmo = BAD! Love you guys! 🙏

the most important thing that I have learned is that your body will tell you what nutrients you need. pay attention to your cravings. I also do intermittent fasting daily but have modified it by tuning into what my body is telling me is the correct timing. don't pay attention to any established idea of what you should follow. be aware of your own body and you will do absolutely fine.

As an MD, I am extremely concerned. Kip, this weight loss pace is too fast. I would be concerned about electrolyte imbalances that could be dangerous from a cardiovascular standpoint. If you were my patient, I would refer you to a professional nutritionist in order to bring this diet down to a healthy pace. 1-2 lbs per week is healthy. Anything faster is too fast and unsustainable. Your energy and stamina are low because your body is starving. Also the “candida cleanse” is a false concept. Candida albicans is a normal inhabitant of all mucosa in the human body from the moments after we are born until the day we die. It lives in symbiosis with other microflora of our body and isn’t an issue unless you are immunocompromised, on certain antibiotics or a diabetic. No diet rids the body of candida and even if it could, there is no reason to do so.
@homesteadliving79732 жыл бұрын
Kip lost 40 pounds over a total of 6 months, within your "healthy pace" range. He has an electrolyte drink daily. Unfortunately, Kip and I both have a history of chronic sinusitis and antibiotic use. That was years ago, but we still battle imbalances from time to time. From our research and experience, diet does have an affect on candida. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Blessings - Carrie

Most MD’s are the opposite of experts on nutrition. Their education includes, on average, 6 hours learning about it. They also spend very little time learning about real health and especially prevention. Apparently, they also neglect to read the articles their own esteemed peers write on candida overgrowth and its terrible affects on the body. There are articles with guidelines by institutions such as Cleveland Clinic, Mayo, NIH, and many others that give specific dietary instructions on how to reduce candida overgrowth and reverse the damage it has done to your body. This “doctor” who commented, however, if Kip had visited them, before doing anything on his own, with a list of complaints…I guarantee he would’ve left the office with a prescription or two, right? Doctor? No…most of them are just legal drug dealers now. Modern medicine has its place…but definitely not in the front seat. There is no pharmaceutical that brings the body into balance…and anyone holding a prescription pad without first looking for ROOT causes of their patients’ complaints…to me they are criminals.

Love you guys!! Kip, Keto is not meant to be done indefinitely. You need to add some carbs in there somewhere. Eat carby vegetables. The way I’ve heard keto described is that your body is in starvation mode, but unlike someone who is literally starving, you are still nourishing your body. It’s kind of a slippery slope though, because you really will just continue to lose weight. Keto is amazing, I’ve lost 50 lbs on it, but it’s not a sustainable lifestyle. Add healthy carbs into your diet, like sweet potatoes, tomatoes, etc.

@@trylliumt5441 there’s no one size fits all. Some do not thrive on Keto. I’m not knocking it though. I myself have had great success with it. However some people can’t metabolize all that fat. And others, like pregnant and nursing mothers, absolutely need the carbs. It’s great for some. But dangerous for others. Not everyone is well disciplined in consuming enough salt and magnesium to make up for the loss of electrolytes when doing keto. Your body is being tricked into thinking it’s starving, when it isn’t. The high fat, low carb, moderate protein isn’t a natural way of eating. Its fabricated and for many, has to be written down to fully accomplish. I only encourage one who does Keto to be careful and to research and do it carefully!

Just one more thing … have you read up on the vagus nerve and how it innervates the different organs of your body? I don’t have room here to get into my journey with it but through much research, I learned that my digestion (gastric reflux) was making my vagus nerve unhappy which in turn was affecting my heart rhythm to the point where I was getting dizzy. When I changed the way I was eating with smaller meals more often, all my problems vanished in a short time. What affects one organ can affect the other organs. The vagus nerve also serves the sinuses, back of the throat and the larynx. There are a few simple massages you can do to your ears that will tone the vagus nerve and bring relaxation. I do them at night when I have trouble sleeping and can feel myself relax immediately. I was so thankful to the Lord for leading me to that information.

I started Keto and was doing great. Come January, I had my yearly physical and blood tests. My Dr. was not happy that I was doing Keto. She said Keto was too high in fat and that was bad for my cholesterol. When my lab results came back, my total cholesterol was 244. She said that was way too high. Then she did a EKG which showed I had an irregular heart beat. So I was sent to a cardiologist and had a stress test and a echocardiogram. Everything came out normal, but she prescribed high cholesterol medicine which I refused to take because I had taken it in the past and it made all my joints become very painful. So I went off Keto because the cardiologist didn't like the Keto diet either. She set me up for a 6 month review and another blood test. I took another blood test and my total cholesterol dropped to 198. I have heard this happen with lots of people on Keto. If this is what happens being on Keto, then isn't it dangerous if our cholesterol becomes elevated? I want to go back on Keto but am afraid. What is the reason for the change in my cholesterol if I am sticking to a healthy diet. I also did the intermittent dieting. I would really like your opinion.

Kip, I’m concerned with amount of weight you’ve lost in such a short amount of time as well as the early satiety. I understand that you’ve made significant changes to your diet (which is great) but I’ll be honest, you don’t look healthy. Early satiety, low energy/stamina and significant weight loss (without trying) can all be signs of a serious illness. Please see a doctor if the added extra snacks/meals don’t seem to help! I say all of this out of concern and not hate. I’m currently watching my Father-in-law battle stage 3 rectal cancer. He ignored all of the signs and symptoms that something wasn’t right with his body. Now he has to undergo invasive surgery as well as chemo when this could have potentially been prevented if he had sought medical attention sooner.

Spirulina also has a load of important ingredients including potassium. The only thing is: do your research please as it has to be a very good one. Spirulina does pollute easily. I have used the one from SynergyNatural for years. Best of luck with your journey and Many Blessings!🥰😇

Have you looked into POTS for Kip's lightheadedness/heartbeat in his head issue? It could be a vagus nerve weakness. There are essential oils and exercises that can strengthen the Vagus nerve. Also for anxiety and fatigue coupled with vitiligo I would highly suspect a genetic condition called Pyroluria. It can be easily treated with Zinc supplements (introduce/increase slowly for body to adjust) like zinc picolinate which is well-absorbed and utilized. As well as the activated form of B6 which is P-5-P. It is life-changing for those who address the difficulties absorbing and hanging on to those nutrients. Other supplements that have been life-changing for leaky gut and autoimmune issues are L-Glutamine and Butyrate/Butyric Acid. Plus a Soil-Based Organism (SBO) Probiotic to balance the gut microbiome after addressing Candida. Great job with the Intermittent Fasting lifestyle, Candida Cleanse and Keto diet changes! I too implement those and it really helps my health a lot. Blessings!

Kip you are so dedicated! Such a sweet spirit. You encouraged me to start SOMETHING for myself. And you are so right about the danger of commercial food. It has made me sick and, even though I try to eat right now, it's too late for me. Keep on getting healthy for yourself and your family. Don't get disabled before your mind and have to be denied to do what you want when your mind still wants to do it. I have come to love you all as part of my family. I wish you many blessings.

No offence kip but you didn't need to lose weight. Please be careful you are looking under Weight now. Giving yourself just 5 hours a day to eat does not seem good. Carbs give you energy. Your body needs carbs! All the best my friends xx

Finishing well and with strength does not require low level starvation. I fully support and encourage eating Whole Foods and fasting as Father guides but NOT fasting as any man has decided for me. We are too individual and have varying needs. I became deathly unwell after many years of fasting and low carb//keto. I believed the symptoms I was experiencing such as dizziness and such were signs of detox or adapting to my lower weight but over time things became severe and I developed many nutrient deficiencies as well as adrenal fatigue from under eating. I lost the ability to care for my family. My story is far too long to share in detail but please hear those of us saying be careful and know it’s not jealousy or lack of knowledge or ability. I am truly concerned that you are looking so unwell and have lost the glow and joy in your face. It’s great you stopped the snacking and are over the ice cream etc but maybe have gone too far in fasting window and carb avoidance. The first food Yah blessed us to enjoy was FRUIT!!! If it’s bad why did He ordain it for us? Also, He gave grains for bread to sustain mans heart (from Psalms). Properly prepared of course and I can assure you it wasn’t almond flour bread that He was referring to. The amount of oxalates consumed with today’s ability to flour almonds is toxic. Ancient wheat properly soaked and prepared and taken in moderation baked with nourishing whole eggs and a smear of grass fed butter is meant to sustain your strength and ability to work your land and protect your family. Life is short! Man is meant to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Enjoy each day! Serve Yah with all your heart and lead your family in His way. Eat clean, Whole Foods when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. Stop following a rigid schedule of fasting and just let the Spirit lead. Maybe some days you’ll fast a long while and others enjoy more food. Some days you won’t need bread others you’ll take in a special Whole Foods naturally sweetened cake to celebrate a birth day or Holy feast for Yah. Just relax in Him and enjoy His blessings of which many involve food and fellowship. Be blessed, Smyth’s. Praise Yah! Amen.

Thank you for making the time to share your story and thoughts. You are so right that each healing journey is an individual one. Kip has prayerfully submitted every part of His journey to the Father. He has gone through food poisoning and an ankle/foot injury since His journey began about 6 months ago, so it hasn't been easy. But, as his wife, I can honestly say that his health is improving in many ways. We are learning and changing things as needed everyday, not based on what any man says, but based on how the Father is leading Kip. We eat fruit and einkorn. Celiac runs in our family so we don't load up on breads, but we do enjoy bread covered with grass-fed butter when our cookstove is going and we have the means to make a loaf of bread. Kip truly is letting the Spirit lead and he is enjoying the fruits of his obedience. Praise Yah! Blessings, Carrie

That’s wonderful to hear! My children and I prayed for Kip and you all during devotion this week and I said to them that it is fully possible that Kip is being Spirit led and even though he appears to be unwell he is in a state of healing and will come out stronger on the other side. There are many online nutritional voices saying to fast more than is healthy for most individuals and so that was my concern. We have no need that any one should teach us anymore, the Spirt leads. So praying other voices aren’t influencing with specifics on fasting windows and diets as that can lead into danger. The Scriptures tell us what is healthful. My family is also sensitive to wheat and so we use gluten free non gmo flours and use very little flour but once we add cottage cheese, eggs, butter and spices etc it makes a delicious “bread” that we enjoy so much without all the heaviness of too much flour. If you ever want to try it out we use a cup of flour to a cup of cottage cheese and 5 eggs and 1/2 a stick of butter along with whatever spices or vanilla etc if making a sweet bread and then mix bake and enjoy 😊

I think it is unique the way you and Carrie talk to us so honestly, no pretense. Rare today, and this is food for lonely people listening. To share with you. I don't know very much about Kip's health. But this is my thought, in case it's right. The root of Kip's health problems may not be diet. There's lots of people who don't eat anywhere near as healthy as your family, and don't have Kip's health issues. Something in his life may not be right, and it is troubling him. Be willing Kip to upend ideas you've put a lot of energy and years on, if they no longer seem right to you now. You have done your best with what you knew and understood then. How do you feel now? Act on that. Then don't look back, look forward. Get to the root of this. Don't use all your energy holding a lifestyle together if it's no longer right.

I say this from a heart of love. Have you had a cardiac work up? (Echo cardiogram) Valves can become dysfunctional at your age.Your symptoms sound familiar. Some people are just born with bicuspid valves which wear out. They become a problem after 40 years of use. Maybe you can just look up the symptoms of valve disease and see if they seem familiar. The sooner it is looked into, the less long term damage to the heart muscle.

Great video as usual, but a word of warning. I visited a nutritionist over twenty years ago, who put me on a no fat diet, drinking a lot of water before eating. I lost one stone quickly, and then developed gall stone colic, necessitating surgery! I have read of the same thing happening to others who were put on a strict diet. Carrie, I get candida, in fact I had it as a tiny baby. For years, I have taken Acidopholus capsules, and also used natural yoghurt.

I was a bit against you doing this when this video came out. Then my doctor said I had thrush in the mouth. She even mentioned cutting back on sugar and carbs. I got out my Amy Myers - Auto Immune Solution book and followed it some. My mouth is doing great now. I now see this video in a different light. Oh and I was eating ice cream before I went to the doctor to help sooth the pain. That was probably adding fuel ⛽ to the fire 🔥. Coconut 🥥 milk now with the Chia tea for me.

I think you are not eating enough. I don't mean to be mean but you do not look healthy, you look to skinny to be honest. I think you need to have a LITTLE bit of carbs no carbs at all is not healthy either. and if you have no energy or very little energy that says you need a little carbs. and there has to be a way to stop the weight loose, if you eat healthy that is good but if you continue to lose you really need to add in SOME carbs because being to skinny with no energy is totally not good either. Just worried .
