✅ About Paulien Timmer - Healing the fearful avoidant.
The way you feel right now is not the way you are. If you want more freedom, calm, love, and peace in your head, body, and life, it is absolutely possible. You are not too broken.

After spending 14 years healing the fearful avoidant attachment style, I am beyond passionate and dedicated to getting you to where I am now: living a life true to myself, waking up feeling rested and peaceful. Deeply in love with my husband, and looking forward to the future. This is what life is supposed to be like, and it is my honor to help you get there.

In the past 7 years, I have guided over 2000 people through my Dutch programs (I am from the Netherlands), to a secure attachment and happy relationship. Over the past year and a half, another 150 beautiful people have been through the English program Healed&Happy. I love seeing how lives can change within three months, and how NORMAL it can feel to have a secure attachment. I wish you so much joy, pleasure, and love.

Thank you for the journal prompts... my biggest struggle is to be able to imagine myself without the fear, it's almost as if then it's not me. There is this thing called Morning Pages mentioned in the Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. I have been doing it for past 6years and it has been very helpful for me. It is just writing 3 sheets of A4 size first thing after you wake up in the morning. There is absolutely no need to think of grammar or punctuation or spellings. Infact she suggests dont go back to correct if you made a mistake just keep writing whatever comes to your mind. To me that in itself was a huge way to face my fear and express myself on to paper, I dont keep my morning Pages I just burn them so it allows me to stay completely honest and it helps me see me very clearly. Sometimes I end up writing deep poems those I type and save for me to be able to go back n read.. they are like the little Pearl's of wisdom that I keep after diving into my ocean of sorrow.

Thank you so much for this Paulien :)! I think journaling could really help me to reduce the impact of my worries by making them something solid, rather than this shadow that I’m trying to hide from. One of the many things that hit home was when you said about how our coping strategies are there to help protect us as well. I always hated the things like my anxiety and depression and tried to separate them from myself and disown them. Since I’ve tried to think about that, it’s a lot easier to begin attempting to forgive and love myself. Thank you so much again :)

When I was 24 I asked myself what's the worst that could happen, but I didn't have the understanding I have today, and I couldn't see any future other than the worst one. It involved me slowly dying. Looking back, nearly 10 years later (half of which I've spent in therapy), I absolutely see that it was more likely that my mom would have noticed something was wrong and swooped me up and brought me to a therapist, and that my dad would have said some judgmental things but I would have gotten over it (and it would have knocked him down a peg - my cousin had been struggling with depression around that time, and I suspect my dad thought that would never happen to HIS kid)

Love your fearful avoidant videos. Totally fits me!Request: Is there anyway you can make your video frame larger? When you hold things up, (like your brain dump journal) I’d like to see all of it, but the bottom part is not in the frame. Keep up the good work! Your voice and manner of delivery is very reassuring and encouraging!

Hi Paulien, wow, I feel that you are the fist person that actualy explained on how I feel. Thank you!! ❤ Could you maybe do in depth video about how to help yourself with EFT? I saw that you have video in Dutch but I cant find one in English. Im doing it intuivively, but it would be nice to hear more in depth on how to use it and help myself to heal ❤

In 2017, I watched my late fiancé/son’s father die after overdosing. What do you do when the worst thing they could happen (the person you love the most on the world) has already happened to you? As soon as I asked myself “what’s the worst that could happen?” My brain said “This one could die, too.”

Hi Paulien. When you said who am i w/o the trauma, i wondered if my heart's desire changes once this trauma is healed? How do i know who i am and how do i know that what i want and dont want is because of my wounding? Right now im so confused because i know i am FA but when i ask myself do i really want a relationship i say No. Been single most of my life because of this anxiety and huge pain body.

I actually have a question: I get the impression that all fearful avoidants have an anxiety disorder to boot (hence the fearful), did you feel you had anxiety or was it only around relationships? Most of those questions are things related to anxiety so now after trying so many things to get over my social anxiety, I'm finally picking up on this attachment style business, as through the years I didn't seem to resonate with it. Now I feel like it's all my problems in one package! I unfortunately due to my clogged up brain, cannot for the life of me visualize, therefore meditations with concrete visualizations, hypnosis, and scripting is something I just can't get done succesfully. I started medication (sertraline) for my anxiety a month ago, and I'm so glad I did, since the fog in my brain is slowly beginning to clear up. Now I have hope that I can at least try to imagine what life would be like if I was securely attached and had no social anxiety. I know how important it is to be able to see where one is going. Thank you so much for what you're doing Paulien, I feel hopeful now after finding your videos. I have found the motivation to really get down to it and heal myself full time
